Removed the exhaust EGR flap assembly and cut out the particulate filter, moved the rear part of the downpipe and bolted it straight onto the exhaust centre section then welded in a piece of pipe to bridge the gap :D

But still a huge list of jobs before Bala, don't think I'm gonna get them all done tho

Well it was actually yesterday but.... Me and Andysd1 fitted the new roofrack/cage that i purchased off Mr Weave re-mounted the roof lights and finally mounted the spare wheel on the roof and had to relocate the cb antenna to the rack/cage thanks to andy keepng hold of the spare mount so thanks to Andys1 for his help and tools.... he's still gettin a dip at bala and all thats left to do now is the suspension lift and oil and filter change.

Well while the fronty is OTR thought i'd remove the head lining so it can be reglued and the wiring for my CB, 2m VHF and 70cm UHF antenna can be put in.

While i was doing that i had my sill hole welded up. Not brilliant but solid. Can tidy it up after i have the green MOT cert!

Removed the EGR valves off the inlet manifold and the pipe that links them to the exhaust manifold with the intention of blanking them off

Already had a nice shiny stainless plate made up for the inlet manifold and was gonna make something for the exhaust out of the old pipe flange

What should have been a 30min job tops turned into 4 hours cos the b***y bolts snapped off in the manifold

First attempt was to try and drill then out and retap the threads but they were too hard and even my cobalt drills hardly touched them

Then dug out Mr Welder and welded on a nut to what was left of each of the bolts, gave them a good squirt with some freeze spray and out they came 8)

But then ran out of gas for the MIG so had to weld on a blanking plate to the old pipe flange with no gas just to get it back together to take me to work tomorrow

Oh and I didn't have any of the fancy freeze spary for freeing off bolts, found and old tin of pipe freeze in my plumbing box but it worked :? :?
