Laptop Memory Map

Today I came across an old laptop I completely forgot we had, its a Dell Latitude C PPX, well thats what it says on the back.
Its running xp and only has a couple of keys not working

The idea is to run Memory Map on it for laning, and Im just gauging the cost of what Ill need to do to achive that.

I figure I will need and inverter, cheap as possible and a wired gps unit, dont want to mess about with blue tooth though I do have a bluetooth dongle knocking about.

Would that be all I need and what cost would I be looking at?

weird, dug my old one out, and even started to fettle around with a mount on a swing arm for the car,, just need to find a 9v adapter

I though of a mounting system but Im thinking lanes like the ~~~~~ lane would be to much of a test so Im thinking, the Dell is a heavy sucker Ill lash it to the passenger seat

its an NMEA type if that will work with MM

If you have got a dvd/lcd unit in the stereo in your fronty, you could always use the video out on your laptop and connect to the display.. so long as it has an av input (might need to convert svga to svhs or composite if laptop hasnt got video output).
That way the laptop could be located remotely and the screen on the stereo/dash used...

im thinking along the lines of a tv wall mount, attached to the dash

you want to be careful what one you use as they can blow your pc if there not a true sine wave
also dont have it plugged in when starting the motor as they can surge and blow invertor & pc
