It is looking good, although a circlip popped off the drivers side autohub so I ended up with 3 wheel drive after the washout.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!

Turned out the circlip was ok Ste. Hard to explain but the hub is slipping and jamming, suspect it may just be worn out.

Is it possible you need a shim/washer behind the circlip to help it engage ? the drive shaft just may have a bit more movement in it, that could cause it not to lock properly or cause it to unlock if the shaft moves on flexing.

I'm wondering about starting the laning weekend a little earlier on Friday morning, with the intention of driving The Gap Road, which as you may or may not know is subject to a seasonal Traffic Regulation Order). The TRO is currently lifted until the road closes again at the end of March (until the autumn)

Starting off in Merthyr Tydfil at say 11:00, we'll take an hour to drive The Gap Road and then travel 40 road miles and drive Strata Florida. Another 40 mile road section will bring us into Machynlleth and the camp site that is then down the road for about 18:00.

As a GLASS member, I will not lead a group of more than 4 vehicles,

The Gap Road is relatively easy with the exception of the Blown Bridge, where there is a long and steep descent and ascent and the very rocky descent of the gap its' self. Strata Florida is generally easy going with the exception of all those river crossings - therefore, I would not like to be encouraging standard Fronteras or inexperienced drivers.

This detour will add approximately 90 miles onto the weekend away, once you have gotten to the starting point near Merthyr Tydfil.

Anyone else want to join us ?

Lawrence

A space has become available should another vehicle wish to join us.

For the campsite location and postcode please see the very first post in this topic on Page 1.

Just so everyone knows I have consolidated all the details and deleted a few miscellaneous posts with regards to direction.
