Hi everyone... Newbie needin advice!

Hi people, just signed up as I am looking to get my hands on a frontera.

I currently drive a MK2 Mondeo, but Id like something bigger and Ive been interested in offroading and mudding for a while but never had a chance to do it... Strangely, the mondeo isnt too good off road

I was looking for some advice on what model etc to buy.

Its gota be an automatic cos thats all my licence covers, and im mainly interested in mudding and dirt tracks, not that bothered about rock scrambling and the like, so I dont know if that makes a difference in what model to buy.

Also, Im not too fussed about leather interiors and the like as I have a dog that loves mud, so seats are always covered!

I have been offered one as a trade for my mondeo, I havent seen it or anything yet, just been emailed, can you give me your opinions?

I wouldnt trade without checkin it all out first. And I would really want the guy to get tax and MOT before a deal was made.

Heres the facts ive got so far:

Vauxhall frontera
reg 1993
black in colour
T+T expired
has convertible roof/ hard top
cd player
electric windows
slight blow from exaust
has 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive

My Mondeo is worth about 600 - 700 bucks id say, but I dont know how much Fronteras go for, so I was hoping I could get a little help from you guys in the know!

I am sure there will be plenty of advise on this coming along, but I would say that year, with no T&T, it would be worth about £400 tops, unless it is very low mileage etc ...

I thought autos were only available after 97/98 on the B series, anything before that manual only
