From Carlisle the borders and North
by stu on Wed Dec 03, 2008 11:18 am
the english brethren are having an anual meet in england . thats good , should be a good day . the part that annoys me is that scotland wasnt even considered even though i suggested drumclog for the meet . andysd1 is looking at kirkton and Bala . any suggestions as to why us scots are being ignored ?? i have tried on several occasions to get the "over the border mob" to come up here , i got the same answer all the time "its to far ". but its ok for me to drive to snowdonia for a bit of laning and come back the same day , i also went for the weekend as well and i didnt complain about the distance or the fuel costs . rant over

i did speak to ste (drift) about this, i a came to the conclusion, that i just want to get it started, and if all goes well, that we would look in to setting one up your way in 6 months time, after the first one, so then we have 2 national meets, every 6 months, i dont care where i go, as long as i have a bloody good laugh,

Yeah, this one ......... I would be willing to have a weekend in Bonny Scotland, and if you put the vote to the usual Midlands Member who attend every meet without fail, I think you would get the same responce from all of them. Stu, you name the date and venue and I will personally take the timeand effort to promote it from the English Side.

There's another name for that Ian I think it would be great to see you guys up here. Should be a great laugh. Please don't rant at Stu though, i can see where he is coming from, and i wouldn't say he was trying to cause any problems between us. Yes the majority is way down there, but you can also see where he is coming from when it comes to having to do the travelling all the time. Lets just stick together as one, and have, as was said, one up here ALSO. We are the best group going as is said often by newbies, so lets keep it that way. FOG rules eh?

great topic, there is only 1 site in scotland big enough for camping, fires, with scenery, and a pub nearby, that is not way up north and thats Drumclog. the drum would be perfect, as its not a great distance from the border, near the M74, has terrain suitable for everyone, and to top it all off has a small pub built onto a farm at the entrance.
