Hi Everyone
We've just bought an '03 Olympus 2.2Dti and looking forward to doing some towing with it. We used to tow a folding camper with a Picasso, but now want to get away from worrying about wet packups and move under aluminium (or is it ABS?) . We looked around at various vehicles new and not so new and bumped into a family who were changing their caravan at a dealers, and they had a old Fronty, so we asked them how it towed - got a good response, so we started looking. We had an S3 SWB Landy years ago, spent more time under it than on it, then a Daihatsu 4Trak (enjoyed that) before reverting back to cars. We felt most of the modern tow vehciles (4x4) were too fancy for us - wanted something that would be happy if we threw (gently) some logs in the back for the fire, or loaded it up all the gear that won't (shouldn't ?) go in a caravan - as well as keeping us safe on a wet and slippery camp site.
We've had a quick look round at some of the discussions in the forum, most interesting. We've got a couple of queries which we'll post in another bit and hope the techy ones in the know can answer!
All the best everyone.
J and M ISH....
