Hi Alex, That tickled me " (wimp out routes) " for the newbies what Alex means is these wimp out routes are for Fronty owners who would like to drive their way back home with their Fronty in one piece lol. ATB. Reeco

Generally speaking .....95% of pay and play can get scratchy  ..depends on how close to the trees you get

HHmm, scratchy. In the rhodedendrons it gets a lil close, not as sharp but close. Always a possibility of scratches, but i have taken the blue pimp mobile twice and not regreted it.

As for any pay and play there is always a chance of driver error missing a root or rock, tacking a drop that smidge too fast and damage occuring.

The Cannock chase is unlike a quarry as its not rock based, its in the woods and believe it or not trees to bend a little  (I have kissed a couple) It is however on a large scale, big hills, big holes, lots of twists and undulations. Concentration a must, its not a free for all its convoy's, like greenlanes with propper chalenges.

I think Dave will be put with me in the experienced group and with the help of a cb and lots of advice will do fine in his SWB. Ive done all but the Devils bowel in my LWB, will be fun for Dave  but might take him down in mine first to let him experience it.
Anyone doing it in a treasured car, should think carefully and make sure they are in Colins begginers group. As ever the leaders are only able to help if you let them know there are issues, so speak up if things dont feel right. There is a good tuition on failed hill climbs and recovery in the little quarry at the start, so your not thrown into it, but its no walk in the park, wouldnt be worth doing if it was

Another thing newbies might like to hear is the experience of the marshalls and the numbers, there are plenty and they can recover a car from anywhere, winch experts all. The know the area very well and all can wield spanners.
Would love to organise a club outing, but you do let the guys down financially if you cant fill the day (Fuzion did a great job last year)

I too am looking forward to this "event".

Having "let my hair down" at Buildwas the other day, I'm looking forward to doing it again (but not the near cliff experience).

The Sports winch works well (as it was tested a fair bit at that last pay 'n play).
