thanks A friend, not sure which way i'm going yet till the sat nav tells me. i'll try and borrow my mates at the weekend to see which way it sends me and let you know. Is one of those two tonne tow ropes from argos any good for recovery? dont know where to get the rest of the gear from in plymouth.

Nope two ton will be ok on the road as there is no resistance but you can treble the weight of a truck stuck in mud easily
