Newbe from Darkest EssexHi, as I have previously posted in the Southern forum I am a Newbe from Coggeshall Essex. I have not long had my Frontera. I bought it coz it was cheap. It's a fantastic car which takes me 36 miles each way to work and back and serves as a fun car for the 5 of us and the Dog on the weekends. The kids prefer it to the wife's Scenic. I am lucky in that my main hobby is a Beater for my local shoot. I also feed 2 or 3 times a week before I go to work ( I work afternoons and evenings as an Artic driver for Argos ) I need to use my car for this, so I get to drive areas of Markshall Woods where the public dont have access. (There is a Public Byway through the woods if anyone is interested, only about a mile long though.) I have put some photos taken this morning on my own website as I dont know how to do it here. go to

hi simon

Hi Tonyakeila, dont know about the alshots airfield one but I will check on my map. The only other 2 I know of are :-
1/ Off a120 Coggeshall Bypass if heading West there is a road called Ambridge Rd on the Right, Turn up there, keep going straight and the road will turn but a track carries on. This will take you thru Bungate wood. On exit, turn right and that will take you down the Markshall wood route. On exit of that there are 2 short tracks. If you turn left then after a mile or so there is a nice woody track on the right which exits at Brookes Fm. This turns in to a difficult section coz there are lots of deep ruts. The right turn out of Markshall Woods brings you to a left turn which is easy. 2/ The other route is off the A120 Braintree bound from Coggeshall. Turn left in to the A friend caravan park which is next to the Garden Centre. Then turn immediately right, this is a longish track that comes out nr Cressing. If you need anything else let me know.

No prob Tony but all can be done with ease in 2wd except the one that comes out at the farm which i would hesitate to try at this time of year unless I had someone with a winch !
