Hey Ive been backpacking around the Caingorms in Febuary for a week in a one man tent , 2 foot of snow all week, that was cold.

Oh and sleeping on the side the Matterhorn in Switzerland without a tent , that was really cold
Thing is Derbyshire true to form will be wet.

Hey driftwood,

I camped at Grinlwald (spelling) (under the north face of the Eiger Switzerland) in April 1999 on a very cheep trip to Switzerland. Man, that was a bit chilly, but no problem camping

So camping in Britain should be no problem[/u]

I'll be camping at Driffield the last weekend in October !

I've camped in November before in south Wales and also February when we had to break the ice to get at the water to make a brew.

"Character building" I think they call it.

We where in Tache just outside Zermatte in July 99 camping on another cheap two week trip 15 of us, you should have seen the amount of red wine bottles outside the tent (cheap in Switzerland).

Hi there
yes that map is quite accurate, I do not know the name of the quarry or the farm it's up a dirt track i know how to get there if you want to meet at a pub somewhere, I don't live to far away. It's a very difficult place to explain.

The fact that it is free is a bonus I might bring my quad, show you guys how to get really dirty!! :dirty w/end:

During the week is better as they hold events in winter on a Sunday in the top quarry.

You are so cruel to each other, I'm not sure whether being called a donkey is a compliment from my point of view donkeys are dependeble and can carry heavy loads, and there kinda cute.

don't ya

Postby sugarbabe1976 on Fri Oct 06, 2006 8:55 pm

I am more of a dressage person it hurts to much when you fall off.

Anyway I think the best place to meet would be at the Holly bush pub then it's not far from there.

Would you be ok finding that!!
