I recently bought a 1995 2.2 petrol 4 door Frontera as a non runner..at first i put it on the leaking fuel lines near tank as juice was leaking out as fast as it went in every time i turned the key..got that fixed in no time but still no luck..got the engine started but the fuel supply(i assume) was cut off instantly so it stalled again..then i realised that there's an immobiliser but no fob..a bit of searching on ebay and got me a replacement immobiliser unit with a fob..so far still no luck..the alarm(901) unit seems to have some loose wires and 2 connection plugs ?missing?(P1 with 3 wires and P3 with 5 wires) as well.
But the main thing that bothers me..i've been around forum and understand that the fuel pump relay should be just behind the left side of radiator on a red base if you look at car from front..well there's a black relay on a black base straight behind radiator and behind that there's a red base..but no relay in it!! Funny thing is that the previous owner drove the car about 3-4 months ago but the copper catches in the relay base show quite a bit of green corrosion on them..would be much appriciated if someone could tell me if the fuel pump relay should defenitely be there or can it be anywhere else..or give me some advice regarding the immobiliser/alarm..

It's the black relay for the fuel pump mate..
The red base one is for something I can't quite remember off the top of my head at the moment.
Your on the right track though.
Oh by the way, welcome to the site

Hi Axl, I have same year and model truck as you and when I got it the alarm would go off everytime I opened the door so I just unplugged the alarm modual behind the glovebox and problem solved. As for the non starting does the engine light flash on the dash.

Hello..
I just hope that the "fresh" ownership will last...i've pretty much only owned Porsche 944s so far(6 of them to be exact )..briefly(just a month) had a Toyota Carina E and a Porsche 924..currently driving a Toyota Celica GT and working on 1 of my 944s + the Frontera..another project 944 is waiting for her time under cover..so it's quite a big change for me to meet the 4x4..

My alarm used to go off and hazards flashed and interior alarm light flashed (one on passanger side roof thingy), just unplugged alarm modual and all stopped with no problems other than no alarm, as for flashing engine light I think that points to immobiliser problem. Try swipping immobiliser fob thingy so red light goes out, turn ignition on, then off, then on and then start.
