V Gully Pheasant Steps and more

Well we had an impromptu laning rip today.

Tim Bumptj and myself went out with a few CRAG members and had a rather great day.

First Lane was V Gully bottom clenching.

We never got any pics as its to tight to get out the car
These are pinched pics not from today, but it is V gully and you get idea

Only drama there was my starter motor has packed in and I forgot and turned off the engine  had to be tow started in V Gully

Then a few more lanes led us to another scary lane The Pheasant Steps.
And yes I made a balls off it  , had to provide the entertainment didn't I
I went to far right and nearly rolled down a hill into a strean as the tree didnt look strong enough to stop me
The angle is not at all clear in the pics.

A very proud moment

Now Tims Bottom clenching decent

We gotta thank Dave R for the spotting 8)

We had a look at the Corwen car was but deemed far to deep, plus it had barbed wire acoss the entrance and exit, seems a tree washed down ripped the wire out and that where it ended up.

We did a few more lanes before home time 8)

And a few random pics

I think a lift is a good idea on the lanes we did today

Also before home time we did Conquering Hero, thats a lane I have always meant to do and now thats ticked off as well.
It will be getting done again its a fantastic lane 8)

On the last lane the ruts where very deep, but other than that it was fine.

But Without the lift it would have been banging away also some fair sized rocks to contend with.

They used brute force I think, its an old pic from CRAG as we didnt get any, it was to tight to get out the car, plus you have to get through fast incase another group are coming from the other way

Its not a nice place to come down though when its that wet. after the 1st couple of feet the tyres are well clogged and she just wanted to slide the back end out. And I dont think we would have been winching her out if it had rolled...
