Hi all
I don't know if this is any use to anyone, I used to go Quad biking at a quarry near Buxton, Derbyshire quite good for all abilities, they have allot of 4x4 events on a Sunday.

not sure what they would charge for a few peopl it's the local farmer who lets you use both sites.

let me know if any good I can find out exactly where it is.

It is an old disused quarry that a local farmer lets you use, it never costed us anything for the quad bikes, it is not an official place with marsahll and safety you just turn up there are people on motocross bikes and some guys in various 4x4s. I will get the exact location in the week and let you know

And Most of us have decent Tow-Straps/First Aid Kits

I have PMR's Argos is selling a pair for £14.99 so is Maplins. I bought 2 pair after the last P&P. After your CB went on the fritz I thought they would come in useful. Also have a Hi-Viz, Recovery strap, First-Aid kit and as the wife will be co-piloting a trained first-aider.

Most places are self regulating, even though its pay and play it still isnt a "go mad zone".
Just common sence awarnes of others should make for a good day.
Just dont gun the car over a hill if you have no idea who is coming the other way
At Aston there where no marshals

Hi there
I finally have directions, sorry if there a little confusing I have only been a passenger getting there. here we go.

you want the A6 from derby towards Matlock,
you will go past ambergate, over a bridge watstandwell, keep going towards matlock,
at the crossroads at cromford turn left up hill towards Carsington water, approx 400 yds right turn this is the via gellia, you will see a big lake with a water wheel on right.
follow this road for about 2 or 3 miles, when the road levels out and you come into a clearing, on the right you will see the hollybush pub, turn right, about 25 yds turn right again, follow narrow road through a farm yard, keep following up the hill, you will come to a cross roads, these are unmarked roads, turn left at these cross roads, follow this road about 1/4 mile, at another crossroads, where the road that crosses you is tarmaced, on the right you will see the first track this is where they hold 4x4 events, you can use this or, go straight over cross roads a gravel track (ha ha) this bears to the left, up the hill and there is an entrance on the right hand side, go 20yds down this track, you can get out the quarry is just over the bank, or you can continue to drive there is a gate on the right.

there is no charge unless the farmers around he will only charge a couple of quid we've never paid.

I've been through Carsington Water & Matlock loads of times!!
Usually on a Cruise to get the Car Aired or on-route to Dovedale for a Walk'n'Climb!
Definatly have to arrange something!!
