Hi, Welcome.
Had our Sport for 9 years and it's always run on the halfway mark (just as our 2.2 does also). When we towed a caravan and were stuck in jams on the North Wales Expressway etc. it was essential that the electric fan worked, but it always 'waited' until the very last minute and used to worry me at times. These radiators do not have a bottom hose as you've noticed and I feel they need regular flushing out and lots of good quality coolant.
Tony.

thanks guys for the warm welcome, and advice.
i do have another quick question, my friend also has a mk2 frontera, but his is a sport apache, but i cant see any differences, it has the same side badges etc and almost identical insides, only the colour is different.
so what is the difference, as he sort of bragging his is much better than mine.........muppet lol, with his being same year and having almost 3 times the miles of mine on it

1997 it on a p reg the same as mine, he bought a few months back, its a sort of light electric blue colour, i would have thought they would of had a badge/logo on the car somewhere that maybe said apache, or was that not the case.
does it say on the logbook?, or has he been sold a fake lol, and someone on autotrader has just claimed it was an apache

if it's a genuine "Apache" it will say so on the car...(i think) ...
"apache-andy" will know ....he's just sold his in favour of a very tastey V6 B series
