Hi folks

I know there are lots of you out there in Frontera land who love your green laning and are fed up with the way our rights seem to be constantly under attack. Unfortuntely of course, there's little that most of us can do about it on a day to day basis but for once we have a chance to make a difference, in Norfolk at least.

If you live in Norfolk, drive in Norfolk or just care about defending our right to carry on driving whats left of our green lane network please read the following notice from Norfolk County Council and respond ASAP!

This is a fantastic lane with an excellent ford in a county that has suffered very badly from the NERC Act . I have been using this lane for at least a decade nd have discussed the matter with the authority at great length. It's in excellent condition and there is absolutely no legitimate reason for the authority to close it. this is pure NIMBYism.

This is what we'll lose if they win.

The only way we can stop this closure is to generate masses of objections.

Of course you don't have to be local to object but if you are or you have ever used the lane please do respond (and mention that in your response).

Don't worry if your not sure what to write/Email, even if you just state that you "object to the proposed closure and believe that the lane should remain open to vehicles" your response will still count.

Please note, this is not a consultation, the order has been advertised so responses must be recieved before the date stated in the notice or they will not count.

The address to write/Email to is contained in the notice below (thanks to the TRF for passing this on so quickly).

NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL (WEST ACRE, FULLERS LANE)

(PROHIBITION OF MOTOR VEHICLES) ORDER 2007

The Norfolk County Council propose to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from proceeding along the U22064 Fullers Lane from its junction with the U22062 Church Green/Low Road south-eastwards to a point 20 metres north-west of its junction with the C68 Narford Road.

A copy of the Order and plan, together with a statement of Council's reasons for making the Order may be inspected at Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Norwich, and at the offices of the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, King’s Court, Chapel Street, King’s Lynn, during normal office hours.

Any objections and representations relating to the Order must be made in writing and must specify the grounds on which they are made. All correspondence for these proposals must be received at the office of the Department of Legal Services, Norfolk County Council, County Hall, Martineau Lane, Norwich, NR1 2DH, marked for the attention of Mrs L Page, by 25th September 2007. They may also be emailed to trafficorders@norfolk.gov.uk.

i have just sent the following E-mail i just hope it does some good??

good morning,

i have just sadly heard the news that there are plans to close accsess to this lane to motor vehicles, i as a disables photographer am saddend that yet more of our counrtyside is being closed to myself and many other disabled people,
for my work and due to a sever back injury i use a vauxhall frontera to get into the countryside and get shots of all kinds of wildlife which otherwise would not be possible, it would only be available to able bodied persons, i abide strictly to the country side rules, keep my speeds to a minimum as to not scare any wildlife which i'm keen to get shots of.

i am getting scared that soon i will never be able to get close enough to take real shots of wildlife or take my children to enjoy and respect what our fantastic country have to enjoy, thanks to a minority whom choose to mess about, dont this minority cause problems for the public on normal roads which do not get closed??? public paths should be left public for all NOT JUST ABLE BODIED PEOPLE??

thanks Mike billing
