hello all martin here from cornwall
i am looking into getting a frontera and was just wondering which model should i go for
i want to use it offroad and greenlaning so i was thinking swb
but do i have a petrol ar a derv
just would like to know what the mpgs are on each model and whether or not they are any good for off roading
i like water and i have already blown up two engines on cars coz water doesnt like to compress so i am inkling towards a petrol
but i need to be able to drive to and fro work aswell so i need somthing respectable on the mpg.....
i hope someine can help me cheers

Welcome to FOG. The too best SWB's are the 2.8 Diesel & 2.0 petrol.

2.0 petrol you should be seeing 30ish mpg.
2.8 diesel you should be seeing 38-40ish mpg.

Theres is also a 2.5 Diesel Swb.

The 2.8 Diesel frontera is said to be the best and most reliable all round.

You can also get the newer shape B series SWB rs frontera 1999 onwards. Which are 2.2petrol,2.2DTI & 3.2V6

hiya Martin ...welcome to FOG

personally i would go for a 2.8TDI SWB..it has the legendery "Isuzu" heart in it ..

i have hydrauliced my 2.8tdi LWB in north wales

and with a little sense did not re-start the engine till i had the glowplugs out ...then had a very smooth 8 hour drive back home (south devon)
