To be really honest I dont think VX will donate or help, they have already started slating the Frontera to promote their new softroader.
They wont want the Frontera looking good against a brand new sparkly 4x4ish thing.
VX are in it for the money and the Frontera does not generate enough money for them to be bothered.
They would only be interested if the car was still in production.
Sorry to sound so sceptical but just my view.
It still would be worth asking and I for one hope hope I am wrong

Hi All, I would tell Vauxhall, we will do it with or without you but if do not choose to support us, we can say in the press, that this fundraising WR attempt has nothing at all to do with the company who made these vehicles. I think we have to go straight to the Top Man at Vauxhall in the UK and not some clueless fool who doesnt give a stuff about us. ATB. Reeco

Hi All, If Vauxhall put their name to this as the main sponsor, they would get loads of excellent publicity, it's for Vauxhall's, it's for charity and it's letting people know that 4x4 drivers do care, it's making others drivers more aware of 4x4's.
I maybe a bit biased here but this is PR exercise which they wouldn't have to do any work for, just put their name to it as the main sponsor.

Hi Ian, Telling someone they are a quality person is a compliment to the person, in the case your Boss, so I would tell your Boss to his face, he is good at what he does and you respect him for the way he conducts himself.
It's not brown nosing Mate. You are doing a great job Mate, keep it up. ATB. Reeco

Hi All, What about this as an idea, lets say there are 300 Fronty's up for this, next year, each member who is going to be there on the day,
e-mails Peter or any of the Site Admins, with a no of how many Fronty, they think will turn up on the day, you will have to plegde £ 1.00 to enter the comp, lets say then a certain % goes to charity, a certain % goes to the site and a certain % goes to the winner, or is split by how many winners there are, as I said it's just an idea. We can pay Peter or a Site Admin of the day, I don't mind going around to help collect the money in.
The no you think will be there should be given to Peter say a couple of weeks or months in advance. ATB. Reeco

I think the best money spinner could come from admin. and i mean this for charity.
we are all hoping that maybe we get 300 cars, we all know by experince from this forum that people come and go, sign up out of good will. i think reeco has touch on somehting that will help all.
but i think the way to go, is have a samll admission fee to the event, whether 5 pounds or ten pounds per truck.
in this way you will find who is really going to turn up and maybe get a better accurate of the numbers that will turn up.
ok, now we have all paid our money, admin could purchase something that could be raffled, through giveing you a number, lets say a when you have paid, you might be 01 or 299, to pay and register.. they could buy something that we could win, a days play and play, or lainig somwhere.
the rest, to charity, and there costs, percentage, they will know.
whats your thoughts.

Hi All, I am game for anything as the more funds we can raise the better it will be. Sean I could be wrong here but I think one of the ideas that we were thinking of was to charge say a tenner per vehicle to enter and then go from there, myself I will get personal sponsorship as well, it may only be £ 50 - 100.00 but every penny helps this great effort. I really like the idea of paying the money up front because that way it is showing our committtment to what will be a GWR attempt and the way it's looking now, if we keep on going like we are, WE CAN DO THIS. Keep the ideas coming. ATB. Reeco

There are many good ideas coming but I agree with Reeco's above, more than most. This way if people pay the deposit and don't turn up the GWR doesn't lose out financially and it will stop people thinking "ah, I'll just my name down anyway!"
Just my two-penneth worth.

Right guys, ive been having a catch up with this, i remember when the first posts were knocking about....
Upon reading it does seem to me like we have a lot of Indians and not too many chiefs here to organise this....
If like what were wanting is a real world record attempt, it needs propper planning, a date setting ASAP, Rules clearly stating etc...
Im sure we could get many magazines interested, and other sponsors, but this needs to be sorted other wise it will not happen.
Please correct me if ive missed something here, and someone has taken charge, but from my brief catch up its looking like no-one has done.

before you set a entrance fee you will need to know the cost of insurance, first aid cover ect other wise you could be using the sponsorship money to pay for the event and that will not look good
