Diesel pump ........ is this the end ??????????

Postby laidback50 on Mon Oct 01, 2018 11:33 am

Hi guys,

My 1998 2.5 TDS Transglobe needs a new/refurbed/? fuel pump. I've tried all over but have come up blank. This can't be the end of this car surely !

Does anyone have a fuel pump for this car that I can buy. I have seen new Bosch pumps available but the price runs in to 4 figures and i'm not sure I can justify that, I retired a few years ago and have to be a lot more careful with the money nowadays.

I was born the same year as the NHS but I don't reckon Peterborough City Hospital can do much to fix my Frontera.

It has been such a reliable and comfortable car, it feels strange that it is in a coma !!!!!

I hope someone can help !

Try greg at fronty 4x4 spares on here.
if not a Jeep cherokee fly by wire fit. But you will have to change the plug on the end.or go for full manual pump

Hi Robbie,

I've found Greg's phone number, I will give him a call. Thanks for the tip !!!

It's a shame that spares for the old Fronteras are so hard to find, they are great motors. My son dropped his peugeot into a ditch and to get it out we ran a rope around his front and rear wheels and onto my tow bar. Put the Frontera into low ratio 4 wheel drive first gear and didn't even have to use any revs. It pulled the Peugeot sideways out of the ditch without even thinking about it. I was amazed at the grunt this car has got. I refuse to let this be the end of the car.
