Indeed it could. With any luck anyway :thumbup:

I took it to be diagnosed earlier (partly the reason we think the crank sensor fell out..) and had the new O2 and Maf sensor 'learnt' but the crank sensor code kept on coming up. Looked into it whilst it was idling and it kept fluctuating between active/inactive. Gonna take it off tomorrow and clean the connections as there was a lot of dried mud on them. Also looked at the alternator and that gives a steady charge :D For once I actually feel like im getting somewhere with it

Got the engine back in the truck. A bit awkward but in! I would love to know who designed the oil pickup pipe so i can punch him in the gob!!!!!!!! Has anyone seen how its held on in the sump. Its 2 torx bolts that you cant undo as there coverd by part of the casting. Doh!!!!!!! :shock: Got a day off from her tomorrow so will be getting her ready to fire up on monday. :mrgreen:

Replaced the two Manual Front Hubs (Milners) with a pair of new AVM Manual Hubs.

See if I can break one of these on Sat's laning trip like I did the old ones a few weeks ago.
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ;) )

Got the new engine running yesterday. All well apart from one small oil leak from the turbo return pipe. Oh and my mate replaced 2 brake pipes at the front, on bleeding the system the last bleed nipple snapped so have had to order a new caliper at £55+vat ! At least she sounds nice with no smoke!!!!!!!!! :dance:

Well today I attempted to replace the clutch.

Redneck one man gearbox tool. Set up

Drained the gearbox oil - Removed the exhaust down pipe + both prop shafts then removed all the bell housing bolts. Undone the gearbox mount then lowered the gearbox down and slid it out of the way.

Then checked the clutch only to find someone in the past has bolted the flywheel and used a trooper clutch. :oh yer:

the bearing was noisy and had a badly fitted carrier only being hold by one side of the Spring. so replaced the bearing with the new one.

Now do I unbolt the flywheel and use the 2.8 clutch or just put it all back together. The clutch that is already in there doesn't look to bad ??

Return the 2.8 clutch to the wholesaler, get a trooper kit and fit that. You know it makes sense after all the hassle involved getting the gearbox off. Chances are, if you just put it back on as is your going to be taking the thing off again within 12 months to replace the clutch.

I know the remove/replace thing isnt really that hard to do (had enough practice with mine ffs) but even so it's a job to be avoided if you can.
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ;) )

Took it for a wee drive around the Gloucestershire country side to test the new AVM hubs that I fitted last week. Went well, didnt get stuck anywhere and didnt break anything either!

The clutch is fairly new apparently. Was changed not long before I got it

Bought myself some spot/driving lights yesterday. Now to add some side light holders to them and wire them up

Gonna run 4 on the roof and 2 on the front :thumbup: Can't wait for those long dark winter nights :lol:

Out on the front yard fitting the new rear springs, and watching the sky for XH558 to go over or is it watching the sky for XH558 and fitting the spring job in while waiting....

Take off set for 13:00 apparently, hopefully they will do a centre-line run and a couple of tight circuits when they get here. Centre-line run will give a nice side view, tight circuits a good view of the underside!
