Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Used it as a mobile toolbox to go fix a mates car. Mk.IV Astra 1.6 8 valve. EML light on permanently with no apparent running issues. Whipped the EGR off and it was full solid with gack. Chiseled it clean. Drilled the gack out of the pipes to the EGR, and put it all back together again. Started her up and no more EML.
Happy days. My mate thought it was going to be mega expensive lol. Got to love GM EGR systems. Showed him the paperclip trick to read fault codes as well. He was shocked that VX would charge at least £50 to get the same results. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I passed a Harley Davison Motorbike in mine in the snow at 06.30 morning on the motorway, he was doing 35mph and constantly wiping snow from his visor I thought he was either slightly mental or just daft

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Had mine towed off my drive this afternoon to where I work after a total clutch fialure yesturday. Pedal flat to the floor no gear change managed to get home in second gear. I'd got a little on the pedal today so I assume the seals have turned inside out in the cylinder.Too snowy on the drive so I haven't really had chance to look at it but will fix it tomorrow at work. Fingers crossed

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Fresh new anti-freeze ready for the sub zero temperatures we are now not going to have as I have changed the water to anti-freeze.
Yes I had water in there for a couple of weeks, while I was chasing leaks around the engine bay from a variety of split hoses etc.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Used the fronty to take loads of crap to the dump x2 then had some scrap metal ( not including the disco before you ask ) that needed to get weighed in. I had to lift the old 2.5 engine into the back as I didn't have an engine hoist and couldn't lift it with just me and Lisa, i decided that a bit of rednecking was in order, i reattached the roll cage part to the back and connected the hi-lift Jack to it using a d shackle and a strop, then attached a strop to the engine and started lifting it, after getting it as high as I could lisa used a plank of wood hooked under the engine wedged it onto the bumper and levered it in the back, yes she is superwoman lol, a bit more shoving and it was in the back, who needs an engine hoist

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Crawled under mine in our nice warm and dry workshop to investigate clutch failure. No leaks, clutch leaver free and moving. No loss of fluid but nothing on the pedal.Changed the master cylinder bled through till I"d got clean fluid,Bled out air Hey Presto working clutch.Back up and running in45 mins.Thats got to be some sort of record for me

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!After work today on the way home i thought the truck was a little floaty on the steering again. When i got home i jacked the front up and found a little play, which i thought odd as its just had new wheel bearings on the front, anyway i undid the hub to find the circlip had come off on the drivers wheel
Next job was adjust the steering box to get rid of the excess play in the steering wheel and top up the fluids, also stuck a new air filter in for good measure as the Lakes trip is approaching fast. Also today i picked up new top n bottom ball joints and track rod ends from milners ready for a complete overhall before we go IF ITS NOT BROKE, YOUR NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH!!
