£186 is a lot of money!!! I could buy loads of stuff for that. For example If I added another £14 I could buy drift's truck for that
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Yesterday:
Emptied the boot and rear passenger seats off all the rubbish and remains of old brake parts, boxes, frontera gearbox tunnels etc etc. Then pushed the bung out of the front passenger footwell and got a face of stagnant water as the Atlantic Ocean poured out. Took all the carpets and foam padding and resigned them to the bin. Once I am certain the windscreen is properly sealed (Autoglass wanted £45 for the privaledge ... B&Q wanted £5 for guttering sealant) I will "adjust the tunnel so that is sealed around the gearsticks and replace the foam padding and carpet with new stuff. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Ooh, been a busy(ish) boy this week.
Sophie's had an engine and rear diff oil change, oil/air/fuel filter change, and rather annoyingly today I've swapped the spare and NSF wheels after I went out to walk the dog and noticed the car canted over at that "You've got a flat tyre" angle. Still, 20 minutes to swap the wheels then nip round the garage to make use of the airline, and all is right with the world once more. The tyre monkey is coming to do our works vehicles in the morning, so I'll get him to have a shufti for me. Jim...

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Replaced the temporary auto-box oil cooler pipes that I fitted the other day for the correct ones. Fitted the new air-con and power steering belts and tensioned the altenator belt and tightened ALL the altenator bolts that the garage had obviously been too busy to do up

Some people are like Slinkies... not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!slapped in a new air filter and then tested the 4wd system as not been used for a while before doing some donuts with all 4 wheel spinning in the car park near me in virgin snow lol

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Re-timed the fuel pump. Was a tad too advanced so a bit too clattery, so adjusted it to the other timing mark on the crank pulley. Once that was done I removed the inlet flappy paddle and associated gubbins on the intercooler inlet. Then tapped and bolted the holes to seal them. After all that i cleaned up all the mank and oil that was caked down that side of the engine after leaking out of the mechanism. Might treat the engine bay to a steam clean now I think I have cauterised all the bleeding. Hell after that i might actually consider going to town and getting it back to showroom.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Test drove it to work to see if the new timing adjustments worked ... and so far I am happy with the results. Feels a bit more pokey, and noise levels are acceptable.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!In my ongoing issue of open holes around the gearstick levers after the 3" body lift I struck it lucky today. I have two holes (one around each gearstick). On the way to work this morning I worked out the issue is the amount of swing on each stick causing the rubber boot to interfere with the raised hole. A light bulb lit (albeit a 5 watt one powered by 5 Volt battery) and I experimented with taking the original boot (this is on the 4wd selector) and flipping it upside down so the cone was underneath. The amount of swing where the stick meets the box is minimal. This meant that the stick now moves inside the cone and the boot stays put sealing the hole with full operational capability. WINNER. Now for the main gearstick ... though the original one fell apart ages ago so I will have to do the same with a modified Frontera one.
After that I will design and build a nice leather gator to around both of them (probably stolen from a 3.1 manual Trooper to make it flashy, then I can re-soundproof and carpet the front interior.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I thought it was a genius idea and true Redneck.
Best thing is it involves minimal effort to sort out ... no need to angle grind (sorry Andy) tunnels apart, and then weld bits together (sorry Greg). Will probably run some of that guttering sealant around it all just to be sure though. Job for wednesday night after work me thinks to sort out the main stick .. if it doesn't snow. Will take a photo later to show what I did. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771

lets not forget than Andy snapped the gearstick in half though...I am sure there is more mileage in that yet. Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
