Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Stuart
Can do, I have classed it as Panhard Rod V1, it was more a proof of concept as to whether it would work, would it stand up to abuse and what issues would crop up, none so far but is early days Soon to be without a Frontera after 10 years of owning one

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Weekend.... Oil in gearbox, transfer box and rear axle. Apart from that not a lot really. Oh yes, dug an out an old concrete pond I found in under the back lawn and dug in about 28 mtrs of 80mm duct so I can run the power and cat6 to the shed properly when the fence comes down next week (cables are currently clipped to the fence, not quite IAW BS7671 but hey, it works).
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Think the thrust bearing has died because I can't really get any gear without swinging on the gear stick and it makes a lot of squealing noises when I press the clutch...funny thing is the bite point feels like its still in the right place...sodding thing. At least I had almost 2 months of trouble free motoring lol

![]() ![]() Had to cut holes in the trim for top bolt and the reel bolt, handy on the top bolt there is already a hole behind and this caused a wear mark on inside of trim this was a great marker. 1989 Isuzu Trooper 2.6 (3.1 conversion )

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!removed the rear diff pan and cleaned and painted, resealed and new oil. was going to fit soft top but on this one there is nothing to bolt the brackets to for hood unlike the last truck.
tidied up the winch and now work
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Went forward a couple hours and then went back a couple of months
Been making steady progress in getting the motor bolted back together - new steering box fitted and steering column all back to how it should be. Radiator and intercooler all back in. Then looked at the broken off exhaust manifold stud - the one that I was in two minds as to whether to leave it and hope it doesn't blow. Then thought, nah - do the job proper so out comes the small brazing stick welder in the hope that I could weld a bolt on the end of the broken stud. Was not a success, flash and bang and no weld and thought bugger this, didn't want to end up welding more stuff together then intended. So having had the turbo on and off and then back on again, thought bugger it, the turbo and manifold are coming back off so I can get at the broken stud. Just three more bolts/nuts to undo and then wrestle to pull the turbo off and only took an hour this time around - amazing what the learning curve can do
