As our truck impressed the following drivers with an unexpected light show (brake light on the left thinks he is the turn signal, turn signal fails totally by using the brakes) started with some routine work: Cleaning the lamps and some anti-corrosive treatment. But this brought no success. Checked the lamp the on the other side by connecting it with the "wrong" plug. Here it worked fine, so there might be a not constant fault in the cable of the rear light unit or in the cable before the plug. Got rid of all cable ties and found this: Repaired by crimps. Fault still present Checked with a multimeter - by sudden the turning light cable fell off the plug! Simply corroded... So tossed the plug away, knipped off the other end of the plug, crimps again. Now the turning signal light works well again, but the rear light and the braking light are dead. Have to check the lamp tomorrow at first!
Kind regards, Ian Sorry for my pigeonenglish. My doctor says I have to invest time in SPORT

Jeoh, try running a good fresh earth between the lamp holder and the car bodywork, see if that improves things. I had to do that on mine as the original earth connection had failed.

Drove it work with a big grin .... .... after fitting my 80mm body lift and custom painted rims with 33x12.5 R15 tyres She is sat in the car park looking mega monster!! Cheers go out to the following: Greg for the work you have done over the last few months. You are second to none, and Martin would be forever in your debt for getting Banshee back to her former glory and beyond! The SE possey for spending a healthy part of Saturday afternoon fitting the body lift kit. Couldn't of done it without you lads. This forum is amazing with their comeraderie, lack of selfishness, and willingness to muck in at a moments notice. Couldn't ask for a better group of friends. Andytats : Next time not so agressive with adjusting gearsticks. They work better when in one piece and not broken in half Pictures will follow once they are off the phone.

certainly looking forward to seeing that Neal. It was drying out for some bigger rubber . I bet they finish it off very nicely.

She is 95% of the way there now. Just a few fettling things to do to tidy her up. Nothing major, just front bumper/bull bar modification, rear bumper fabrication, and a set of sidestep/rockslider/tree slider's to design and fit. Once that is done its time for me to start on the interior.
She looks great if I dare so myself. I had an image in my mind and so far everything has far beyond according to plan. Things which I have learnt over the last few months is big projects like this is to plan everything in advance. Talk to those with experience and accept all points of view and perspective's. Some will be good ideas, others not, but in the end it gives you all the options. From the beginning I wanted to make sure all the work would blend with itself. Its all very well saying "I want big rubber", "big lift", "snorkel", "winch bumper" etc etc, but its easy to get carried away and hap-hazardly slap things onto your truck and the end result is a mis-match collection of parts that while achieve what you wanted only ends up making your beloved truck look a complete mess. I had to make careful choices from the beginning about where Banshee was going and how to get there. Projects like this are not cheap and the last thing I wanted was to spend hard earned cash on something I would ultimatly look at and feel disappointment and a waste of time and money. When the lift was done on Saturday I felt so proud to be part of such a good group of friends. Watching them run around attacking 22 year old bolts, getting thier hands dirty, and still laughing and joking even though they never really gained anything for it. When the body was lifted Rospicer buzzed around to fit the new wheels and Greg forbade me to move from looking into the engine bay where I was doing some tidying and re-mounting the rad. Once the truck was ready I shut the bonnet and Greg led me around the side at a distance. I closed my eyes and turned around. When I opened them and looked at the finshed article I could not stop grinning. She was exactly what I visioned and wanted to achieve. She started her life with me with a death warrant from my mother (previous owner) saying "don't expect her to last long". This I took as a challenge and over the last 18 months I have gone over her replacing broken parts and replacing things that could break soon. The bug hit me. Finding dents, scratches, rust, huge swathes of paint and laquer missing, broken parts, squeaks, rattles, knocks I doggedly attacked them all and brought her back from the brink of the crusher.
"don't expect her to last long" --- not a chance I tell you. Banshee is a classic, and deserves a new lease of life. She is a very rare example of what Isuzu brought into this world and inspiration to others of what a 4x4 can and should be. If nothing else that heritage should live on and still prove to these younger whipper snapper trucks of late that these old girls still have and always have it in them to show you how it was and is meant to be done.
None of this could of been done without you guys. Some more than others with long nights lost (mainly Greg and also Robfog), others running around getting parts for me (Gazeddy for the arch flares amoungst others), and people pitching in to throw spanners and hammers around. Then there were the ones who merely provided support and appreciation. While small it gave me the encouragement to continue the quest to run the entire race. Once again I thank you all FOG. What a great bunch ... now for a beer.
P.S. Only a couple of you know why I will write this reference, but it needs to be said. Martin this is also for you. Banshee is one of the last things of your automotive history and shouldn't be left to fade away. I hope its what you would of wanted (in fact I know it would). She lives on and I will make it my mission to keep her going. All I can say is it is a shame you never met any of these guys and gals as I am sure you would of enjoyed their company and help as much as I have done. However without Banshee in the first place I would of never of met them, so I have you to thank for that.
