WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!A blown turbo will cause excessive oil usage and smoke, not sure about the rough running though, would imagine it would effect it.
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Soon to be without a Frontera after 10 years of owning one
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!No wonder you have been silent on here if rebuilding a RR Yaki ... thats a life time vocation
As for your issues I would say rings and bores. Fortunatly you can buy new liners and rings for little money. Replacement turbo you seem to have already found. Personally I would go for the rebuild. Not a big job to do for a man of your calibre. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Gearbox was a bit whiny and notchy after the weekends under water exploits, so I dropped the oil out of the box.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Boxy:
That rear axle whine has been there a while now. I thought you solved it. Shame you realise now, Drifty had one on his driveway with an LSD not long ago. Yaki: The 3.1 is not much more powerful than the 2.8 (in the Vauxhall guise) but much more torquey. That would be a good thing in my book. I would slap the 3.1 in and run with that, or an ideal solution is to refurb the 3.1 and use that long term. As for me I changed the oil again. Every 3 months at my mileage ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!after a 13 hour day at work i decided to fit my new springs
![]() one side done then got all confussed as to why the axle wouldnt drop on the passenger side ![]() 2 nice shiny trooper h/ds fitted ![]() then tackle the front torsion bars easy a hot knife through butter on both sides ![]() so just a ride to work tomorrow and re check the front for level and order some new roll bar bushes asap as these are all worn and loose must get it mucky
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Found a upper control arm bush bolt had worked itself loose and had almost dropped off the end of the thread. Not cool so got the breaker bar on that...was rather hoping that would solve a clunk I have when lifting off the loud pedal when in 1st gear...but predictably it didn't. Infact it didn't help anything o.O. sounds like a prop uj but I know the rear prop is fine and the front 1 isn't driven in 2wd so cant be that. Blooody thing. And I need to find out what's gone wrong on the steering now as it has a fair amount of play again. Think its the ball joint on the tie rod itself now :/
But whatever it is I'm giving it a week to fix itself while I'm in Tenerife ![]() My 2.8 shorty - now sold, and comments here My old dti - now sold "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOW --- What a Ride!"
