WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!That just looks like a heat shield, bent at the bottom (sit on top of the block) and another formed dent on the top edge that quite possibly lines up with some pokey out bit on the head, and they have stuck the four individual exhaust manifold gaskets to it as an aid to getting the things easily lined up during re-assembly.
Don't forget to replace all the studs when putting it back together along with the nuts. This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I have a Milners one on mine. I cut a notch in that flange to give me room to get spanners onto the manifold bolts. Never had an issue. Though I noticed I have a missing bolt (bottom right) Those ones always fall out.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Just ordered a set of Nitro 8000 shocks from Llama 4x4 and a set of Insa turbo Sahara tyres to fit on my LWB to go along with the new springs.
Need to get it sorted before the end of May so I can tax it instead of the shorty for the summer. I would prefer a full bottle in front of me than a full frontal lobotomy.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Yes as above, I had to cut about an inch extra away from the rear of the front arches (I had previously cut them back, but I cant remember how much by so I cant say how much you need to take out of a unmodded truck, but prolly about 1.5 inches) - Not a hard job with a hammer and a angle grinder
Oh and on another note...unless u have at least a 2 inch lift then you'll need a body lift because with my boot full of stuff (thats normal...i never have a empty boot) the rear wheels rub on the top of the arches if I hit speed bumps too quick lol. But its ok offroading because of how the axle twists it tucks the top of the tyres into the arches so they dont (only just) catch Hope that helps fella ![]() My 2.8 shorty - now sold, and comments here My old dti - now sold "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOW --- What a Ride!"
