WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Think Horse's might have just been a bit unlucky Jim as I know Drift and Yaki have been running +4" on the rear for quite some time and as far as I'm aware, they've never had an issue......
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!No issues ours are LWB, but Mark just make sure the rear axle is not dragged to one side and it should help

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!As stated Mark their's are LWB, they got a bit more length to cut the angle to the rear axle.
Just another question Mark were the springs that Rob got from AndySD1 from you and if so were they +2 or +4 you just said you have just fitted +4. Wondered if they were aswel! That would mean a +6" lift and that would certainly be a good reason that it killed 2 props on Robs truck? Regards Bobster. Comments on Betsy here please!!! viewtopic.php?f=115&t=56282

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!now there's a thought - looking at your pic this seems a similar height to pete's (retro) - i know he has only had a prop issue once but has happened - wonder if there is a common theme?
mind you would have thought lwb worse as it has a centre bearing so back part of prop will be at a sharper angle which is why i thought that some hi lift lwb's went for a single piece prop to lessen the angle. got any pics of underneath?
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!No centre bearing on a lwb 2.8 Ste

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Hello Bobster,
no I've never sold any springs to Andy so doubt very much the ones that Horses has removed are a set of mine. Although I do now sell +2" & +4" springs but I've only sold a few of the +4" so I can say 100% sure that what ever Rob (Horses) removed, they wouldn't have been a set of my +4". If there Red in colour they may be from BloodRed Offroad ? I've read on another site that Andy could not get them to move at all with him standing on them (he's a BIG FELLA) so could be that the coil springs where just too hard and that has caused issues ? Never saw them fitted to Horses motor, did they compress at all when the vehicle was on the deck ? I've only done about 25 miles in mine since I've fitted the springs but so far there's no adverse vibration and whilst the Prop is at a bit more of an angle, it seems to be coping without any issues. After seeing what Drift said about the rear Diff becoming off set I nipped out and measured mine (only using the old Bikers trick of a big bit of string and a tape measure) and it still appears to be 100% true. I suppose the real test will be when I get it off road
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well thats a result then Mark

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Had the set of four Lassa Competus A/T tyres fitted.
Was good to see the off-coming tyres had worn flat and evenly across the tread. Still enough tread on a couple of them to retain as decent spares. Kodiak Transglobe 2.0 SWB

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Neil, when you lift the truck you pull on the panard rod that is connected to the axle and the chassis, this is a set length so as the truck goes up the rod drags the axle to one side.
This can be counteracted by extending the panard rod bracket, the calmini kit has this in the set up, the BBB has one of the calmini brackets bolted to it. A few members said they would make some up for sale but none have ever emerged. Ste

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Hound dog reminded me Drifty. Been messing with leafers for too long lol.
Later Nissan 300ZX'S use a clever panard rod system to cause the rear wheels to turn ehen the suspension flexes. Thats why they corner so well. Its a crude but effective 4 wheel steer. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771

Ordered the parts to convert the fan from viscous to 2 ten inch electric jobbies, fans from 800HP and all the rest inc. switches for overide ON and OFF from Car Body Solution. All in all I'm 120 sheets poorer. Hope I have a better day tomorrow. Regards Stuart Remember, keep the greasy side down!
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!After seeing Rick's (Rseaville) internal snorkel and not wanting a lump of drainpipe glued to my front wing I decided to have a go myself.
First job was to drill a large hole through my bulkhead Next was to attach the pipe reciever onto the bulkhead. I went with JB weld chemical weld, then self tappers and finally some silicone sealer on the inside. ![]() Next was to bin all of the original plastic intake pipework ![]() Then finally to attach both ends and test. ![]() ![]() ![]() It's passed the watercan and hosepipe test, it is noisy if left permanently connected, but that was never my plan. It's strictly for wet bits on lanes/fording and for that it'll do the job. I just need to get a cap for the pipe reciever when the pipe isn't connected.
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Nice job mate
Don't leave any paper money on the passenger seat or you will lose it up the vacuum

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Re attempted to sort my tyre - nice people down the tyre shop let me exchange the inner tube with a split in the valve to a nice new one.
Got it off to a tee now to break the bead, get the tyre over the facing side rim, inserted the new inner tube. Got the valve out through the hole and screwed on the valve puller. Re-soaped the tyre, and got it fitted over the rim. By this time it's getting dark, but thought s0d it, I'm going to pump the tyre up. Fumbled about getting the pump ready so that when I unscrewed the valve puller, I could screw that pump straight on - happy days - not bl00dy likely. As I gingerly got the valve puller undone, the poxy valve slipped back through the hole. Had a go with magnets to retrieve the valve, but no joys. Guess who's going to be taking the tyre off for the third time tomorrow ![]()
