Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I did a bit of tidying up in the truck, and remounted the radiator, I wasnt happy with it being so close to the fan so re-drilled the mounts and moved it further back

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I set fire to mine.... Or something.
Got nearly home after doing a round trip to Kent before there was a nasty plume of smoke from the dash fuse panel, and assorted electrical systems died. There's this nagging self doubt cos I only rewired and fitted the stereo a couple of days ago, but I've done that plenty of times over the years without a hitch, and I'm fairly sure it wouldn't have taken the other bits down with it. Time to take the dashboard out tomorrow and have a shufti. Grrr... Jim...

ROADS? WHERE WERE GOING WE DON'T NEED ROADS!!
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well, been out to mine in daylight with a pair of needlenosed pliers and some fuses and we've an improvement in situation.
Replaced the fuses for the windows and the alarm so now the windows are at least up, and it's as secured as it can be. Unfortunately and somewhat bizarrely, it looks like the 10A fuse which deals with the interior lights and the door switch has melted for some reason and stuffed the fuse panel. No idea why as I was driving at the time and didn't have the doors open or the interior lights on. This is a show-stopper as this also means the little doobrie on the steering column for the immobiliser fob isn't activating and hence I can't turn the bloody immobiliser off without some sort of bypass / bodge. Jim...

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Jim...I think you will find that all the interior light circuit is live all the time, only the door switches make the circuit to ground to close the circuit and the lights come on...I think this is right, as IIRC there is only 1 wire that connects to the door switches.
This means that a short anywhere on the lighting circuit could cause the symptom you describe. If the circuit works as I described above then the interior lights must be in series with these switches. I would pull all the lights out and disconnect, and using a meter try and identify which wires run to the switch and which run to the supply...Then use you meter and measure between the chassis and the switch connections, if its short circuit with the doors closed then the wiring fault lies on the circuit between the lights and the switches...My guess is the fault lies at the lights or before, on the supply side of the circuit, as if after the lights the sympton you would see would be that the interior lights just wouldnt turn off. Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!My NSF indicator stopped working. Thought (naturally) it was a blown bulb. It wasn't, so I don't know what is causing it to not work. AAARGH!
Also, I have noticed over the last few days that she is pulling to the left under breaking. Tyre pressures are OK, and the brakes are all fairly new. Think the NSF torsion bar needs tweaked as she it sagging a bit on that side. Hopefully that will fix it. Am I right in thinking "clockwise" on the adjuster nut is to wind it up?
