Bit of a change around with my motors

Frontera is now my daily drive for the next few weeks so gave it the once over and a clean

Freelander went for its MOT today and passed so is now up for sale

And hello new project, P38 Range Rover 2.5DSE, yes the one everyone reckons is an unreliable piece of poo

Never let it be said I don't like a challenge

Its gonna stay standard (ish) and be my daily drive

Well as the sales have started at work (halfords) I made the most of them today Got myself and my bro new 12" subs for just £32.50 for the pair. Got myself a JBL GT5-12 1100W peak, and almost 300W RMS and my brother a slightly less powerful Mutant MT1210 800W peak. He has a smaller car so doesnt need to move as much air

When I got home I took out the old sub, put it on my bed and started the upgrade ...pics as follows:






I didnt think much to the internal wiring.... Just seems a little....dweeby


So I beefed them up with some 2 core mains cable, doubled up


As you can see, a lot more better


Crimped some connectors on, bent them inwards so they wouldnt vibrate off, then in with the new sub


And finerly the finished artical compleat with guard to stop all the crap in my boot flying into the cone


I had no idea how powerful the original sub was, but the JBL defo packs more of a punch, altho the increase wasnt as big as I had hoped because it starts to distort if the gain is set above 3/4....but that might be the amp distorting because its only a 200W amp :/.

Also yesterday I managed to blow my front passenger bass speaker....so thats now 3 of the 4 speakers blow :/. They all still play, but have a real nasty vibrating sound to them....So I'm on the look out for some bargin door speakers now , then a new head unit, then I'll start to think about the less importent things like wheel bearings and leaky exhausts lol oh and I really should get around to changing the oil(s) that have been in the back for best part of 2 months lol

Took a drive to helfords today to buy a new trolly jack as mine gave up yesterday while changing the wheels over.
The 4x4 one is on offer again £44.49

drove it to derby(about 50 miles past) and back cause the old man bought a rack of guitars and realised he couldnt fit them in the mondeo estate

it was nice to do 200ish miles and not have anything go wrong, quite reassuring i not bought a lemon

got the fog lights working at last after taking half the front end off to get to the wires

Today got GodZilla back from the Opel Garage at Büsum.
Had some welding done and the lower ball joints of the front axle. And now TÜV (German MOT) for another 24 months

Used mine to tow the trailer I bought. Wooden box trailer. Needs a little bit TLC, but the chassis is all in good order. Bargain price of ....... £25!

Near side top and bottom ball joints changed.New outer cv boot fitted and CB cables re routed. Checked and topped up all levels.

Took the v6 for drive as she has not been used since the last laneing day. Then checked all levels and tyre pressures read to go laneing on sunday

Was down at abington last night on a break down mate sheared wheel stud off his trooper, lucky i had a set of hubs for a mk1 trooper. So last night in icey condition i froze my ass of stripping his hubs splitting the disc off knocking old studs out and then doing same on hubs i had then hammer new studs in rebuilt and back on the road .
I lost feeling in my fingers they were so cold still hurt today at tips.

got home an wife made me chilli hot dogs with german mustard and four season cheese the irony
