Well the grand plans of earlier went I look silly swearing up.

First off, wouldn't start after 2 months of not doing much. So I bimbled down to the petrol pumps, about 2 miles away, had slight heart failure at the price of petrol. Wnet back to the wokkamobile, applied aforementioned petrol. Started first time, only to discover main fuel line from tank had ruptured.

So went and took the tank off, replaced said hose. Changed the exhaust, using redneck engineering modified the flange clamp to fit the new exhast and a bucketful of exhaust paste, fingers crossed for MOT.

Also changed plugs and HT leads, lost interest after that and went to the pub while Kiwk Fart fitted the tyres.

fixed air intake pipe, got most of the dent out, but dropped my taping hammer down the iner arch, woman i need your help, stick your hand in that hole and grab the lump and pull it, lol,

Just burst a water pipe on the way back from picking up the daughter from work We were happily zooming along as you do when the windscreen suddenly got wet and the temp gauge went into next week, I quickly turned the engine off and went for the good old 'freewheel inertia drive' to get home. Good job it was pretty much downhill to home and we werent exactly hanging about when it went pop.

Tis a good job it was the wife's little Mx5 and not my truck that went pop Odd thing is though she doesnt see it that way and is not happy cos she now gets to walk to work in the morning, unless of course she replaces the hose tonight, I have, of course offered her the loan of my tool kit In the circumstances I thought it was the least I could do....

Stripped out the passenger side door lock so I could remove the broken key. Took off the steering wheel to put it back in the middle,washed polished and hoovered and checked all the fluid levels.

Fitted the snorkel and replacement wing. Wing bolted on but ready to be removed again during the week
Got to handy with the angle grinder and cut the outer sleeve of the bonnet release cable - now nicely positioned to snap. Need to source new cable ready for in the weeks episode.

Well 2 weeks ago I removed my mud flaps....Im glad I did because now it looks higher I think...The back end looks much higher anyways






And yesterday I got around to welding up my exhaust so it has a back box again. So it now goes exhaust port -> turbo -> cat -> 2.5inch straight pipe -> standard rear box -> atmosphere




And once again, no comments on my shoddy welding please, its near impossible to get a neat weld out of gassless wire as it is, made 10 times harder by the fact all I have to cut the pipe was a angle ginder, so all the angles were cut by eye and were never perfectly straight lol. but after much tweeking got the recyled exhaust flange's welded up in such a way that they mated almost perfectly, just a small amout of exhaust paste was needed!

dan i keep saying get your self a lil stick set
and having a small gap should be no prob to weld up

but that dont look too bad, and as long as there is no holes all great
and tbh i have left worse on site

hay fudge, Ive never tryed stick welding.....and no the gaps wernt a problem, just makes the welds look messy lol.

And its hard to say box....I dont think its much louder than stock with just the rear box (kinda disapointed how hushed up it is now ), of corse its MUCH quieter now then it was running straight out of the cat ....in terms of power, its not much different to how it was wich no back box, maybe a small drop in get up and go around town, but not much. I havnt driven it enough to say if its uped its MPG, but I doute it because running it straight out of the cat I got the same as having a full standard exhaust on it, between 45 and 70 miles out of a tenner (about 140.9 a litre) depending how and where its been driven. I found the biggest drop in MPG happens when my front O/S tyre drops down to about 28PSI (it has a large screw smack bang in the middle of the treat pattern lol) put it back upto 40 PSI like the other 3 and my MPG shoots up with it
