Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!It would have been funny
But he has been great helping me, fixing and moding me with my truck
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Found an annoying oil leak when I got home, my own fault really, I took the turbo oil return pipe off last weekend to make sure it didnt have any gung left in it following the recent turbo events and decided to re-use the lower gasket due to it looking okay and not wanting to remove the oil filter to improve access.
Seems I'll be replacing the gasket on Saturday now, once I've dropped the oil and removed the filter first. So that'll be a oil/filter change as well. At least, that'll be the last of the leaks tracked down and sorted. This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!finally got the motor to turn over on the starter..
was turning very slowly, but no longer is it seized...new big end bearings required, as number one is worn from lack of oil...having removed the offender, engine can be turned easily by hand (no sparkie plugs) crankshaft looks and feels ok, but will have to find a measuring caliper to check properly...hoping that it's ok, and I can get away without having the crank re-ground...haven't got the time or money this month & the annual is fast approaching.. this truck again fails to defeat me...it will work again.. The greatest lesson in life is to know that even us idiots are right sometimes

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!yesterday i fitted the new Clutch Slave Cylinder (old one was leaking ). then tried bleeding it but no matter what way i did it the pedal just sat on the floor. so i took the master Cylinder off to have a look at it. then took it apart cos the piston was not moving in /out. the big spring inside had snapped. so went to scrappy for a replacement master Cylinder. job done in the end. so for a simple job it took me 6 hours

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I took advantage of the 24 degree heat to re-paint the horse trailer ready for next weekend so didn't do much to the truck. Still havn't put the roof back on
I did take out the EGR valve though and tried to clean it-didn't have any carb cleaner and it wasn't too bad but only took 5 mins so will re-do when I get some carb cleaner. Is there anything else I could use instead? ![]() ![]()
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!you could use brake cleaner if you have any of that

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Today i beat the devil, i removed the vacuum pipe at the back of the cylinder head, trimmed the dozed piece and replaced it. Sore arms some swearing and ingenuity was what it took, but i did it. Removed egr valve again gave it a wipe and replaced, then topped up oil and coolant.
Quite pleased to get it done. I spent a lot of money on booze, birds and fast cars. The rest I just squandered.
