I am hoping there will be some snow, I might even vring some back for the sat, let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!

we now have 11 Frontys and 1 bike for the quarry on sat that's pretty good although I'm not sure where we aer going to put everyone. we will have to kick everyone else off maybe some scare tactics any idea????

That's a difficult one as some people have never ben been off-roading, but they could just get begginers luck.

It will be someone in a LWB on roads tyres does that narrow it down any. hehe

hehehe i forgot about that..... that seems like so long time ago, but was well worth the 100 hundred miles each way!!! Even the getting lost trying to find the place, then realising i was one village out on the same road name,:oops:

The lanes we are going on should be fine for unmodded cars, we need to take everyone into consideration, but right next to the hut its a proper rock and diff smasher, its legal to drive and alot of rocks have scars from sump (has to be lr's, no protection) coz there is a few bits of oil too.

Ive been there dozens of times and been tempted, but didnt as standard.

Ok, I'll also start looking into the Weather Forecasts to try to get an idea of what We're looking at for the weekend!
Highly unlikely to be right as Yesterdays 3-Day AOL stated Snow on Tuesday, Lawrences PDA said Rain on tuesday and Today AOL says
Dream on it's sunshine!!

Also the Ford Run on the Sunday looks to be taking in 6 Fords over a 1-2hr Drive !! Couple of Opps for Breaks but SB is going to Recce the route when She returns from Poland.. (Have a nice Holiday ..don't forget my Voddy)

I went yesterday and attempted some of the inclines, but I start to wheelspin at only 25 degrees So hopefully i will have some rather better tyres on next time.

I have been doing my bit to keep the water level down in the water splash too

SB is in Poland over the weekend and She's doing the Recce on the Wednesday before the Event so we have a current idea of Depth/Safety

Ok another piece of Info for you Sunday 28th for the fording run we will be meeting at My house for those of you who want food!! time 12pm.

Leave for run approx 1pm and hour for food I think will be plenty!!

Fording run approx 2 hrs and a stop at a pub if anyone wishes 2.

i will give directions for my house on the sat at the quarry.

Some Play & Pay site tips, as previously posted in the Aston Cantlow thread:

Vehicle preparation

• The week before, wash and wax your vehicle - this ensures it is easier to clean after the event.
• Ensure your washer bottle is full, perhaps with an additive.
• Ensure you have all the tools required to change a wheel (locking wheel nuts !).
• Ensure you know where your tow points are (saves embarrassment on the day).
• If possible (and you don't need it), remove any drop-plate fitted to your towing bracket.
• Sort yourself out with a decent tow rope.

On the day - General

• Wear suitable "out doors" clothing and appropriate footwear (muddy quarry).
• Ensure all passengers wear seat belts.
• Small children will see better if seated on a (approved) booster cushion.
• Ensure all cargo is firmly restrained where possible so as not to injure occupants.
• Be aware of your vehicle's abilities - don't push to exceed its capabilities (break-over angle, wading depth, side slope angle, etc).
• If you are unsure, ask - we were all novices once.
• Be sensible and don't take risks.

On the day - Driving

• Keep your speed down - there is no need to drive fast in this environment. A slow speed will allow the suspension to keep all the wheels on the ground to aid traction. Speeding over rough terrain will most likely cause something to break.
• There is no "one way system" (you drive wherever you like), therefore please be aware and look out for, other vehicles (that might be about to drive up the slope you are about to drive down).
• Give way to other vehicles already in an obstacle and those driving up-hill.
• Don't go rushing into the first obstacle you see. Take time to watch how other vehicles tackle an obstacle. If they make it through/over, follow their tracks - if they don't, wait for someone else to succeed before giving it a go.
• On arriving at an obstacle, stop. Look for the route you want to take, the exit point, imagine how your vehicle will react (dip to the left, grind out, etc), advise passengers of your intentions, then drive your selected route.

On the day - Recovery

• Do not practice "snatch" or "kinetic" recovery techniques - the Frontera's recovery points are not strong enough.
• If you are asked to tow someone, let them get muddy. Let them attach the rope to their vehicle, you attach it to yours. If you're not comfortable assisting, say so.
• It is better to be towed backwards out of an obstacle, rather than be dragged further into it.

Can I just add to Truggas excelent post that when driving to and from the quarry I tend to drive very slowly through the farmyards and give way to people who live/work there... Its best we keep friends with them I think, Just something for you to consider
