Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Had a spare hour at work so I finished installing my new speakers and wired my new radio in and it worked cool
Not bad for somebody who doesnt mess with tingly stuff. CB next Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!jet washing the inside sounds like the best plan, be careful you dont get any splash back though

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I tried fitting LED side light bulbs to Beasty...but they weren't fitting very tight in the holder...and one fell off inside the headlight. Grrrr. That's both my trucks with the same problem now. Aaargh.

Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Truck went to Tidders today, turbo was lazy and didnt budge all the way there and back lol.... these things are like driving a brick without the turbo, slower than a stationary lamp post, as for hills.....
Still, no smoke so thats a bonus and I'm hoping that I can retrieve summit on sat when I rips it to bits. Thinking back, when we had that newby laning day round Shropshire back in Jan I dropped the truck into some ruts and the engine bay steel plate took a right bang as it basically landed on that (about a 12" drop). Didnt think much about it at the time, did a once over on the gauges which were all reading okay and spent about 20 mins listening to the engine while driving to try and spot any new rattles and it seemed okay, things went pete-tounge a couple of days later with the first turbo breaking apart on the way to Gloucester the morning after doing an engine change with some engine flush. I wonder if I broke something loose when I dropped it and the flush finished things off? And if theres some crud going round the oilways, espec the turbo drain path? (possibly bits of old turbo bearing) Also if the water pump could have taken a knock and the impeller is not working as well as it should? It's so getting the spanners Saturday! Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Lowered her by 2 inch all round. Dropped the torsion bars on the front and fitted Steinmetz springs on the rear. Handles well now with next to no body roll but its a little hard on the rear over bumps. Still, it's a damn site better than it was when I throw it into a roundabout and i can live with that!! Just need to sort some new shocks now.
Low mean and moody is how i roll!!!
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Had a nice speedy delivery from Milner`s , nice new exhaust , gaskets and hangers , removed the the old tailpipe section and the centre section of the exhaust only to realise that like all jobs on the wagon there would be a complication.... 2 out of 4 bolts snapped , so putting the new exhaust on can now wait till tomorrow once I have some new bolts .
''Too bad it didn't thunder when you said that. That would have been cool. Like you're an evil genius or something.''

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Crab, you never heard that 8 out of 10 "cats" prefer new bolts?
Have plenty to do to the Fronty, missed the chance last week with the dry weather, so with appointments out the way I thought, yep today I'll get started - guess what - cars has snow on it, its sleety showers, Baltic freezing so staying in. Livingroom could accomodate the Fronty if it would fit through the doors........which it doesn't. Kodiak Transglobe 2.0 SWB

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!nice little simple one..oil change (with filter)..fuel filter change, new air filter and replaced the exhaust manifold. put a few nuts and bolts back where they belong, and had a look for anything that might knacker the upcoming MOT on the 23rd..just a coat of underseal should hide any iffy bits of pipe and rusty spots (nothing seriously bad mind, surface rust on chassis and fuel pipes..but not the brake pipes previously given an advisory for last year)
