Popped down the pub for nosh & a natter,no drama's heater worked a treat & so did "the button" only down side was my passengers banned me from overtaking a slow moving Astra but you needed to be there really

Had to replace the battery in mine as it was FUBAR'ed (£91 bosch one from Halfords (usually like £120 something but brother has trade card). brother also is gona help me sort out a slightly squeely alternator belt and few other bits

Rolling around in the snow I refilled the leaking tranny box (fitting new seal on ramps in a nice warm garage tomorrow ) the under body doesnt need waxoiling this year as it has a nice coating of oil and looks lovely and clean funnily enough
So did a bit of running around and have to be up early to drive Lee 25 miles to Warrington to get to work as her car wont get out of the close

had the car on ramps and we fitted the new front transfer box seal, no more leaks and it was a a hell of a lot easier then last time
Also tinkering about and checked anti freeze with the bubble thingy it was not the correct strength so took the hose from the filler bottle and started the engine, as water flowed out I filled with 2 litres of antifreeze simples

It is Minus 11 here now

i went offroading in the snow and the dark by myself was ok till i had to godown a big hill into 4wd lo an wee bit fo brake in first let the gearbox take me down the hill while i was gently on off the brake. One part i thought pooh im going in the river clyde back end thought about sliding at a angle as i tried a ti avoid a wee bit of substance on the edge (wasnt there last time) i just gave some more gas an shut my eyes lol

It suddenly started stalling on me today. As soon as revs dropped when changing gear it died, although not every time.

Anyway was driving back down the valley tonight in the dark in a blizzard and it died just after a fast blind bend . I was marooned in the middle of the road praying that another car wouldn't appear, but one did Large screech of brakes from his/her car my bum hoovered up the seat cloth and closed my eyes. Thankfully he didn't skid and managed to steer round me (thank God for Abs ) .

Anyway, it gets the last laugh as with the fault codes I have and doing a bit of research on here and elsewhere it looks like dead pump time, which if that is the case it's going on the bay ASAP!

that was a close 1 then mate hope its not the dreaded fuel pump failure, can you test for that yourself ? i have read a few threads on the subject but most of them seem to end in changing or refurbing it as the last resort

Failed MOT on anti-roll bar, going to have them fix it tomorrow as can't be arsed racing round trying to get the part and fix it in this cold weather.

well after taking the starter off to fit the one i got off ebay and finding that one was damaged beyond fitting, i refurbed the old one and refitted and it started first time. unfortunately 2nd time werent so good ande it went blurrrrr.

fitted brand new starter on monday and wow, starts 1swt turn of the key. she aint done that for over a year. seems i was wrong about the stem seals as there is no hesitation either

Checked all the fluids and topped up as necessary, added some anti boil to the radiator, and packed her up this morning for a camping trip in the high country leaving tonight. Roll on christmas holidays
