Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well yesterday to be honest...
had an investigation as to where all the power has gone, and why I've got a slight mis-fire..result..looks like it's the HG...plug 3 (from front to back) was covered in what would be best described as a calcium build up, so it's not a suprise that it had a weak spark..all others fine. would also explain the waterfall from the exhaust pipe and why the coolant and oil has slowly been disapearing. thankfully I don't think the damage will be too bad as it didn't overheat. Been given a price of £50 for a full head set inc bolts..or HG £15 + £24 for the bolts, think I'll go for the full set and do all the other gaskets while I'm at it..seems to make more sense The greatest lesson in life is to know that even us idiots are right sometimes

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Let's see... Past couple of days we have:
Changed oil in both front & rear diffs, and added Molyslip, Removed & cleaned the K&N panel air filter (make sure to use the proper kit, else you'll knacker the thing and need a new one anyway), Rotated the tyres front to back, Changed oil in engine and replaced filter, That's about it so far... Have got the oil and a little pump for the gearbox & transfer case oilchange, but will wait until I have the right kind of Molyslip first. Need to do the other front bearing at Dad's this Saturday prior to the SE picnic, plus the fuel filter at some point. Jim...

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!raised the front by 6 turns of the torsion bar ( as advised by Drifty ) removed the mudflaps and trimmed away some excess wheel arch liner .....
then fitted a set of 15's with 10.5 x 31's ..... well impressed with the results ![]()

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Wound the front torsion bars up by 3 full turns (about a 20mm lift) to stop catching flaps.. Did another temp repair on the OSR caliper. Checked oil and water as both were disappearing. This seems to have stopped, both oil and water are spot on
Drove all over Wales looking for a hose for my air box mod and couldn't find one, which is probably OK as the scarlet pimpernel has done a disappearing act again , so I guess I ain't going laning 2moz
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Fitted the 6mm S/S spacers on top of upper ball joints (BJ already flipped), wound the front down a full turn on the T Bars, didnt seem too much lower but front deffo more soft which is what i wanted - wow there is some \ - / positive camber! Still now sorted with some shims and aligned using Drifty's patented spirit level, cable ties and bolts method - top job and took less than an hour

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I change the drives side wheel bearings,as it was making a bit of noise, and when i started to take it a part, well the swear jar started to fill up
![]() ![]() All done, but i can not get the brake pads back in, as the bolts on the caliper just keeps going round, but its nearly out So i will have a go tomorrow
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Broke the power steering pump .... well it has been dying for a while and finally gave up its long 20 year old life by shredding the bearings all over the engine bay and into the fluid. What was a cleanish bay and clear red fluid now has a metallic sheen and the fluid is black ... joy of joys. Tell you one thing I am feeling buff now after having to limp her home 42 miles through the countryside with no power steering.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Done an oil and filter change, changed the grade from 5w40 to 10w40 and added some Wynns hydraulic lifter treatment to help reduce the tappetiness first thing in the morning.
