Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!compleated the 2'' Yaki made body lift
![]() ![]() I haven't lifted the bumper yet, as I'm thinking of something a bit different. Lifting the bumper will involve either losing the bars or making a bracket of somekind. kind of thinking along the lines of bigger end caps on the bumper and somekind of larger front grill. (had to put steps back on, as the Mrs is a short ass and had enough trouble getting into it as it was...wait till the next mod....sussy raise..) edit* forgot how to spell the The greatest lesson in life is to know that even us idiots are right sometimes

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well it was a fail
001 Rear (both) Mechanical brake component has restricted free movement 002 Rear (both) Brake disk(s) excessively pitted 003 Parking brake lever has no reserve travel Advisories: 001 Steering system has a slight free play detected at steering wheel Funnily enough the brake efficiency of the handbrake was very good apparently. He wasn't too bothered about item 3 but put it on there as there were other problems that could be related. I took it on the chin as the disks need changing due to the pitting and no way would I let it pass with everything else (thought it was borderline anyway) but I did ask about the free movement bit. He basically said that the wheels were binding, which they could be, but it was difficult to tell as she does have an LSD which of course will mean that when you manually turn the wheel it will spin everything up to the gearbox. Anyways new disks ordered ( £32.99 inclusive from http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/ ) and an afternoon will be spent pulling everything apart and cleaning. He was quite impressed with her overall and flew through the emissions test (screw you EGR valves and your un-necessary installation. You can sit there in the garage and stay redundant) As for the coolant leak it could be anything, but he didn't find it, and the advisory of the slight rear body corrosion on the last MOT seems to have disappeared as well. I couldn't find it either. Could of been better ... could of been a lot worse. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Fitted the my bullbar and lights after a careful rust treatment and a fresh spray of paint
![]() Then drove happily off to catch some cool pics -- and got stuck, grounded heavily in the mud. I was very lucky that an old merc with some drunk kids came by the quarry to have a smoke. They were happy to help me out with a long length of rope. A pity they came by immediately after I got stuck actually, I didn't get time to take pictures until I was out Here's the hill with the truck safely back on horizontal ground. You can clearly see how three of the wheels have been slipping, puddles marked with red. The fronty drivetrain wouldn't give up until I was safely grounded ![]() I have learnt a few things today: A - never go photo shooting on you own. B - need better tyres and more ground clearance.
