well after shouting and a lot use of the lump hammer then the sledge hammer came out to play, i final split the bottom ball joint, the top one was easy, but wouldn't you believe it, the bearing has collapsed, and then spent a whole hour playing with the abs sensor, (pain in the bum) so the whole drivers side is stripped ready for tomorrows play

What did I do to my truck today - hmm, folded the roof down for the drive home.

Seriously though...

Late last year I bought these direct from the factory during their sale:

Image

Those that have fitted different seats will know that the floor of the Frontera is not flat and one solution has been to fettle with the existing seat frame slider. In competition, I have to have a fixed seat, so I've sketched something out and had a chat with the guys at work - something like this should do the job:

Image

It's probably a little overkill, but should give an extremly firm base to the seat. There might even be enough space under it for a second battery

Fixing the harnesses is another motorsport regulation I have been thinking about, and will have something like this fabbed up:

Image

Fitting under the rear VX roll bar, it should give a firm achorage for the belts.

On a different note, this came through the post today:

Image

...that should please my "winch biatch"

Cleaned the EGR.

Checked the stereo loom.. to find it's too short and I can't swap the live over.

Fixed the arm-rest 'cover' with a new home-made hinge.

Fitted a new BiXenon Hi/Lo 6000K HID kit and some LED Sidelights. Verry nice and bright white. ;) :gr8:

Yesterday I sorted out my front spots and after fitting the new HID's one has gone off again and they look verry yellow.

Not too sure about the LED side lights as they seem to have a bit of a blue tinge too them. :gasp:

Tomorrow is the start of the snorkle fitting :P :P

Got both CV boots on the other side done today, so thats the lot done this week.

Found out why my front diff was leaking, my mannual hubs where stuck locked for weeks and must have been building pressure up and wearing the seal, all sorted Andy turned up and fought with the spring.
Will still need to replace the prop seal though.

Did a bit of a top up on the waxoil as well 8)
