Finally got the starter sorted, so it now starts when I want, not when it feels like it! MOT Monday!

Fitted my FOG stickers to KITT
Started to remove unrequired parts from my doner car, and thought about doing the exhaust on it.
Note to self - must do exhaust by next week otherwise it cannot go to the weekender
Traffic lights in London are just rough guidelines

Took off my side steps as they are rotten underneath from 15 years worth of road spray- planning on using whats left for a template for some sliders (need to find some 2" box section and a free day!),
Also took the bull bars off for a planned rub down and repaint, bit 'bubbly' in places, and sheared ANOTHER bolt in the process  (24 inch breaker bar might have had something to do with it!, My Air Wrench wouldnt touch it!) strange that 3 of the bolts are 14mm with washers (came out no problems) and the one that sheared was a 19mm with no washers at all... :?

forgive me Fogsters for i have sinned......

i washed my truck for the first time since i bought it 2 years ago

ps. a little tip for those who cant remember (like me!) the fundamentals of car washing - dont cover your car in loads of water the night before a heavy frost, couldnt unlock the car or open the doors this morning

pps. its v.embarrasing drivin' a bright green 4x4 truck without mud, it looks like i'm making some weird and misunderstood fashion statement 8)

Today I have changed one of the tyres on Holly the BBB

Got back to my yard this afternoon, intending to sling some stuff in the car, and have a nice evening at home, but discovered one of the back tyres was flat, with a bloody great split on the inner sidewall. Grrr, etc.
On the plus side though, I have discovered that one can change 31" tyres with the standard Vx bottle jack, which is nice.

Not so nice is that Goodyear have discontinued the MT/R, so a little research is needed to see what I can find.

i had a problem with the Cooling system again (heater not working). so last night i put in rad cleaner at work than drive the car home 20 miles. then this morning i stripped it all down flushed the heater matrix and Radiator. Fitted new thermostat Refilled the cooling system with 50 percent antifreeze and water.bleed the system by squeezing all the pipes with the cap off. now the heater is working better then it ever has :D

Not today but yesterday:

Started to strip the rear discs to sort out the handbrake and got distracted when I discovered a floppy rear trailing arm bush. Swapped it with one from the spares truck.

Changed a bottom ball joint. Other side still to do.

Sorted the handbrake on one side, other side still to do.

Finally got to the bottom of the Engine management light (hopefully). Faulty Lambda sensor. Swapped with spare and all hunky dory so far. This was a funny one as the computer never recorded a Lambda fault.

Cleaned the combustion chamber as the tops of the pistons looked a bit sooty. Used Wynns Professional Combustion Chamber cleaner, followed directions as per tin. Left for 5 hours to soak and started her up. In about 10 seconds there were clouds of grey/black sooty smoke pouring out of the exhaust.
This lasted for about 25 mins but the engine is far smoother now and after whipping out the sparkplugs to have a look see the piston tops while not shiny (as indicated on the Wynns website) they are clean.
This also highlighted a leaking exhaust manifold gasket as the sooty smoke started pouring out of the gasket area. Unfortunately I left the heater on fresh air so it filled the car with smoke :?

Changed the rear diff oil which was Grey? Funny one that as I only changed it about 9 months ago. On the plus side the weep from the rear diff cover has stopped all by itself.

Still to do:
Sort out intermittent rear sidelight.
A funky exhaust modification.
Iv got a manifold coming (post 96') so I can remove the secondary air injection system and change the Exhaust manifold gasket.
Other ball joint.
Handbrake.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!

Put battery back on the sport!
It went flat as a witches wotsit.
I think I left the rear screen heater on and I haven't been near it for at least 2 weeks.
Took about a day and a half to charge but it's done now and heater switched off!!
I think I managed to convince the missus NOT to sell it!
I still need to do a bit more work on it yet.

Things still to do :-
Straighten out front wing
Straighten out leading edge on bonnet
Figure out why the drivers footwell is soaking wet!!
Find a cheap set of SWB bullbars!
Refit Fogs and Spots.

If the flamin' weather would just warm up a bit, I might get a little bit further than just thinking about it

Took Holly up to Micheldever this morning, to have the rear tyres sorted.
We now have a pair of BFG KM2's on the rear, and a slightly lighter wallet, hehe. Will go back in a fortnight or so for the rest of em.

Also, see for sale section if you want a 31x10.5x15 AT as a spare

gave her the kiss of life,

a lot of sucking a lot of blowing and a whole load of shouting, some blood spilt, from me and her, and that's when we bonded for the fist time, i caressed the key and turned it gently in her barrel, as she spun and spun getting dizzy going round and round, then she puffed back some smoke, not liking this to much i stopped, took the key this time with a firm grip and cranked it over she spun and came to life taking a gulp of air and blood she then purred at me asking me to push her blood line up, so i did and she was loving it, we became giddy with laughter, the result of this is we are now, one.
