I went tighten an outer wheel bearing then noticed it was goosed so replaced it only the collar was welded solid to the inside of the hub and there was no way it was moving..ever, so just popped the bearing in as couldnt be arsed messing about.

I then fitted the little white plastic thing Sir Doris got me to the gear selector, dam there was some crud in there so it got a clean and oil.

Nothing on my Frontera today, but bought an absolutely "minted" Omega 52plate 03 reg .2.2i GLS . For a donor engine.. Seems such a waste to rip this engine from this car, as all it needs is a Auto box to get it roadworthy.. But there goes, I have been hunting for an engine for months.. You wont believe what i paid for this car...Anyway can't keep buying vauxhall's to do other vauxhall's up...

Engine alone is well worth the money I paid for full car, plus it has 4 brand new tyres 225/70 x 16's on it, so will sell those with the alloys for a couple of hundred, that should pay for the sump gasket kit....and some odds n ends...

Black one should hopefully be on the road before end of November now...

That will be his n her's Frontera's soon.....

Washed the 2.5tds, sals saab convertible (easy only have to do half a car with a rag top), sals purple fronty, the wheels on the chevy, and the works astra (with the water left over ).....
I hate washing cars so then couldnt be a4sed to wash the l'ill white leafer which is still muddy from last weekend...

Then bought a 2.4lwb on an Lreg....good nice tidy car which runs really well, just out of mot and tax, but it will donate a trim for the 2.5tds, and give sally an offroader for up the woods!! (be scared...be very scared!!!).

House has a definite GM presence of late....3 fronties, chevy, astra, saab....and the yella fronterror is on the rear drive out of shot and the 2.4 isnt there yet!!!

Dont know about wanting one of every type...
I am just trying to make up for the fact that I also own a landrover 90 and a rangerover (both are v8's though!)

Was offered another sport this evening...soooooo tempted, its a 2.8, just needs T&T but its a virgin one...really tidy, would make £1000 on fleabay guaranteed and pay a few months rent on the workshop...I've got first refusal...watch this space, there could be 3x 2.8's on the drive very soon!!!

Picked up that 2.4i lwb tonight....so now have 6 frontyish motors at home!!!

How many more do I need to beat for the GWR thingy for fronty's??....I reckon if Tom and I lived nearer we'd have it licked!!!

This section makes such great reading ,I'm not sure i've ever looked at it before maybe once a while ago got lots to catch up on.My twopennyworht!I stuffed a ladder into mine today and went to Deal and measured a copper lantern on top of a pillar I've taken on the restoration of.Drove home and slightly alarmed at the smoke up a hill outside Canterbury in the following cars headlights.M'o't soon bit worried about the emmissoions.Brother rang and wants me to move his safe from Bournemouth to Midhurst with my Fronty and trailer and chain hoist and planks.Its horribly heavy.So a big round trip on for this weekend.I wonder if I can get to Harlow on the same trip to collect a box of frontera bits a Slovakian lads been keeping for me .Included is an alternator and a starter motor so I think its worth a bit of a deviation.

When the engine is working hard throw some diesel additive in the tank and just before the MOT and give her a good run the same day, smoke always looks worse in headlights behind you, remember the emmisions is not as strict on the older cars
