Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well this was'nt on me truck but me car i bought for work.
I thought i would be good today and buy it some new wiper blades, so into Halfrauds i went and spent £23 on 3 new blades. I put the one on the back first great, then the drivers one jobs a goodun i thought. Come to the pasenger one and it was a pig to release so i gave it a bit of extra force it slipped wiper blade came off and the arm promptley hit the windscreen and cracked it. So thats gona cost me all together £83 for a new set of wipers. Moral of the story is:- IF IT AINT BROKE DONT FIX IT!!!!!!!!! Comments on Betsy here please!!! viewtopic.php?f=115&t=56282

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!well, i did as advised, fitted new turbo, drained old sludge (i mean oil)(perhaps 3 years is a bit long an interval between oil changes)
after 5 mins on tickover the engine temp hadnt moved from cold so i gave her a bit of revs, not too much, just 1500 so as not to spool the turbo. all of a sudden she stasrted revving her t1ts off uncontrollably and even when i took the key out, she kept going, screaming and belowwing smoke out her bum. the only way to kill her was to put her in gear an stall her, (unfortunately she jumped forward and hit my mates car, no damage though) After ringing Alex in a blind panic it was found after disconnecting inlet manifold hose and turbo outlet hose that the old turbo, when it failed had dumped about half a ltr of oil into the intercooler. Wheni built up the revvs, the oil was sucked through the intercooler into the air inlet manifold where it mixed with the air and of cause, the engine thought, happy days, loads of fuel and air to guzzle rendering the throttle useless. So, it was off with the intercooler and all pipes (what a bugger that is to remove), clean it out with diesel and drain and dry. Changed oil again for some nice 10w/40 semi synth, another new filter. Put the intercooler and pipes back on, started her up and hey presto, she lives again. Thanks very much for the advice Alex and Drift, without it i think i could have permanently killed her ANGELINA LIVES AGAIN ![]() ![]() SIZE DOES MATTER!! Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Looked at it and thought. " Once I get the third Transit mobile I'll be able to get the Fronty back on the road." Big sigh. And went to feed the Lambs. Then sorted the front porch light out and looked at my poor sad Fronty sitting there on its axle stands waiting for it's trooper flywheel etc. and then had another big sigh. Then went and did water runs to the other 400 sheep and gave them more hay that we really need for winter but guess what....... it's a drought in central france.......umbrella salesmen are topping themselves by the dozen. Popped the cork on a bottle of good red and sat in the Fronty listening to the hi-fi while the sun went down.
Then I peed on the back wheel so she knows shes still with us. Sigh. Not the best of days. If you need something done quickly just ask a busy woman then get the f"k out of her way.
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Sounds like a sad car day, but sheep fed, sun shining, tomorrow is another day, squeak of a cork sitting out on a warm evening wine glugging into a glass

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well, today I realised the biggest downside to owning a LWB again, specifically one that's been lifted so much as Holly...
I washed her, AAAARRGHHHH... etc... I'd forgotten just how much extra there is to wash and polish on a LWB. Side note though, I've decided that the roofrack's coming off when I get my holidays, for a sand off and repaint, and so I can clean the roof properly, and give it several coats of wax... Still, worthwhile effort, cos she's all shiny and lovely looking now Jim...
