HI A friend just to say that if you are going to give your Fronty a service soon, the bigger Tesco stores now sell Diesel Redex for £3.60 a bottle. One bottle does two tank loads of fuel, might help you claw back your 10% better fuel economy

Used the chevy/brava/isuzu fing to go and pickup sally's new crosstrainer...(just need to work out how I can get her to generate lecky now!! )
Then went up to my mates farm where my tyre machines live till I get 3 phase up my workshop and swapped the tyres on the chevy's alloys.
Took off the worn out 245/70/16's and put on a pair of bridgestone a/t 265/75/16's on the front and dunlop a/t 265/75/16's on the rear. The tread is almost identicle on the bridgestone and dunlops, and they have a good 7mm or so tread...not bad for some tyres I nicked off a set of rangerover wheels that had been cluttering up my workshop for ages.
Look much better on the wheels and being a bit taller than the 245's they seem to help the ultra low gearing on the old girl, plus they are a lot more legal in the tread department!

Too much like hard work that is....but how do you balance them...78 rpm on your record player with the wheel and tyre laying on it and then hammer weights on until it runs smooth....
Those rangerover claasic alloys are a pig to get tyres on and off...quite big bead retaining rings on both inside and outside, and the bridgestones were really tight to get off and back on.
How long is the new tyre gonna last this time dwifty..... :axe:

did an oil and filter change and the damn filter resisted all attempts to remove with a screwdriver (bodge) and for the 1st time in 19 years i have had to buy a proper filter remover and bloody hell it worked.

I ignored all Drifts advice and sprayed a whole can of Wynns Carb cleaner through the intake manifold via the PCV hose and it billowed out some sooty, greyish smoke for the first 3/4's of a can then cleared up.

Definitely not as much as Alex's 2.8 when Drift did his but it is noticeably quieter now, took it for a quick test drive and it seems to have smoothed out the engine somewhat.

Definitely worth it.
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!
