PSU recommendations

Postby dandan on Tue Mar 03, 2009 11:12 am

Hi all,

I'm building a budget PC for the missus and was after some PSU recommendations.

It'll be running an ASRock motherboard with an Athlon 2500, 2.5Gb RAM, CD-ROM, DVD-RW, 10Gb IDE HDD with a view to adding a larger "slave" in the near future plus the usual ancillaries inc floppy drive.

Cheers all for your advice

Minimum 500w power supply would be my recommendation.

Something like this for just over £18, or if you can afford a bit more, go for something like this - 750w for £31

Hope that helps :)

Cheers fella. Some good finds there. Think I'll leave the second one till I come to build my own "little monster"

Was looking at getting a budget case/PSU combo but that 500W should do a treat.

All that's left to sort out now is the 2nd hard drive and a front usb hub/port...... and maybe a small case fan JIC

EDIT: Just been reminded that I also need to get a DVD-RW.

Glad everything so far has only cost me 20 quid or it woulda been cheaper to go out and buy a complete PC <shakes head>
