Welcome, If you need to know anything about your fronty, someone on here will have the answer, they've never failed me yet and have already saved me £££££'s by detailing jobs i can do myself which normally i would pay a garage to do.
Dont forget to check out the Guinness World Record attempt we are doing, we need more numbers so get involved, you wont regret it!

Hi Mate, Welcome and enjoy, this is my humble opinion. It all depends on what you want it for, if you are going to do a lot of mileage or pull regular weight I would get a 2.8 TDi, SWB lol, I am biased, I get over 30 around town in mine.
You would pick a nice one up for £ 1,700 - 2,000.
If you want something you can abuse and have some fun with you will pick up a 2.0 petrol one for around £ 7 - 800.
Regarding known faults, I can't help you there, as I don't have a lot of knowledge. Good Luck with your search and if you want one of the tech team to help you look over the Fronty they will for a small fee, I did it and at least I knew what I was buying, thanks to Mike C, Steve 1 and Pete Admin. Also check this one out mate:
HERE
It's a list of things to check when your going to look at a new car whether it be Fronty or not, and also it's written by me with a 2.0i SWB Petrol, but it's the same sort of stuff as a 2.8, just things might be in different places
Good luck.
