I build Honda Civic's as a hobby and a small job (mostly for pleasure though), I'm a self taught Mechanic, I've been into them since I was roughly 12 years old, I had my first one before I had a license at 16 that I started working on myself, I taught myself everything that I currently know about them but still am learning too, I now have my own unit that I use for this, unfortunately will be closing down after this month but hoping to come back bigger and stronger than ever at some point next year with better premises! I currently have one main track/fast road spec Civic project on the go with one "asleep" until the first one is completed. I won't bore you about it as you guys are all Vauxhall and off-roading warriors..... and I'm sure you all really love it when these low, loud and fast cars come shooting past! NOT! haha.
Any way I'll be perfectly honest I never thought I would see the day when I would own another Vauxhall...... jeeez, If people knew I was on here I think I would have to go into hibernation for 5 years! I owned a Vectra SRI many years ago now, and if it could go wrong it did, handles basically fell off or flew off at will, dashboard lit up better than a Christmas tree, engine management light used to come on like a techno raver with a glow stick, calipers seized on as if the hand of god was trying to stop me from driving it altogether..... actually quite surprised the wheels didn't fly off the thing! I vowed never to buy another Vauxhall again. Why did you not fix it I hear you say.... because I'm convinced there were Gremlins living in it that would have had my hands off if they could! No thank you, I'll pass this time!
What I find funny is that down here, most of the Japanese car group will take the mickey out of the Vauxhall owners, it's all good banter but does get rather funny, I regularly take the mick out of a few friends of mine for their Corsa ownership and another for his Astra VXR and Nova ownership..... I usually tell them jokingly their not welcome near my unit for fear of upsetting the Honda's inside!! I used to joke that any car that has badge with an animal on it can't be good .......
the best joke being ..... Vauxhall factories like to save money from using quality metal for the body panels so they get all their staff to recycle tins and old bean cans at home and they melt them down.... these then go to make the panels! haha.
..... and here I am with a 1999 Frontera! Damn! What went wrong I here you say?!..... the threat of snow this winter (although I spat my tea out yesterday when Mr No Clue weather man announced it would get milder...wonderful, you bloody t*t)..... a nagging missus and a cheap opportunity is what went wrong! Plus the fact I used to off road a little with my dad with our old Vitara and Samurai when I was younger.
Any way, that's my introductory, I'm a bit clueless when it comes to these Frontera things right here.... I couldn't even tell you the engine code of my Frontera! I'm so Honda that well, I might as well eat H shaped cereals or some thing! But I'm looking forward to working on the Frontera and taking it off-roading.
But I might also add already the problems have started, and my Frontera has done 75,000 miles but have since found out its had a very hard life..... wonderful.... some one hand me a flame thrower......no I'd better make that a spanner instead!

to the best place for Frontera (Passport/Jazz) owners.
