New to this forum, And to Off Roading

Hi guys,

My name is maniac,
i have been around a few forums, really seeing whats out there,
I own a A series Sport Soft top (pick up conversion)

Its currently failed its mot, on emissions and front wheel bearings.
Current Mods include : -

Drain pipe snorkel
Lifted Suspension (lifting bars on the rear leaf, and the previous owner changed the front suspension units)
fuel tank in back (where the rear seats would go)
Coil pack on dash board
No interior carpets or head liner
Big ass tyres
Bodged spot lights (4 on top behind the sunroof, 3 are useable, but all have been removed atm)

Planned mods,
Enclosing the rear end (building a unit simular to a truckman)
Installing the radio in a partition wall behind the drivers seat,
Internal Roll Bar
Bucket seats with 4 point harness (this is more safty than looks, as i intend to take my other hals son out with me on a few events, he is severly disabled and has no fine motor control or balance, so this is intended to KEEP him in his seat.)
Putting shelving in the back for camping supplies and spares
Housing a Jack Long enough
Re-spraying to Black - Red
Re-positioning the Roof lights, to infront of the sunroof
Rock sliders to protect the sills, and provide a step into the cab,
winch bumper with winch

there are a few more minor mods i intend to do.

Where i came from...
I used to go off roading with my mates dad, back when i was a kid. In his severly modded and bob tailed rangy. and had the time of my life. I saw 'The Thing' sat in a gate way then the ideas started to flood in, and thought it would be the perfect vehicle for me and tyler to have some fun in, (tyler being my other halfs son)
It is now sat on my drive in Eastleigh, awaiting me to find some time to start the mini overhaul, and modifications,

Lovely intro, sounds like you've got an interesting truck and some plans already. I'd not say no to seeing how the pickup has been done.

wow, there are quite a few of us in the local vicinity. i will have to take pics of Thing tomorrow, as it is just way too dark now. and too late.
you cant really see how the pick-up conversion is done, because i built a temp petrol tank cover, which is coming off, so when i start the back, i will show how it was done. I am definitely up for attending any events locally as soon as she has a ticket, and mr mot man says shes all good. i must admit though, the bloke who did the mot on her, really liked the way she looked. (he must be blind because it looks a bit of a state atm, either that or he can see the potential )

Hello and welcome saw this post and thought that was my old fronty! it has to be , it was once purple ish and after denting most panels i fitted all new white panels, i fitted the tank in the back after doing the pickup conversion, coil on dash as it kept dieing in water + moved all relays + wiring upto the top of the dash . i fitted new 33" kumho mud tires to it plus a b&q snorkel lol it was only used for offroad when i had it. and i sold it as it had a brake problem that i couldn't sort so gave up. if you search my posts on here most are to do with this white beast. after selling it i said i wont get another but i did i now own a 2.8 lwb and only do mild offroading.

the thing was a great little offroader and i miss it still will sort some old pics out if you want.

the last i heard it was used at a church by the gardener there
