Hello from Darlington

Hi, I'm Adam from Darlington, co. Durham.
I'm 25, born and raised in Darlington.
I'm using my father in law's 2.4 M reg Frontera LWB estate, as my 1.4 Astra was stolen wednesday - thursday just gone.
If the Astra isn't recovered intact soon, i've already agreed a price of £150 for the Frontera (it has a ton of fualts, MOT up in Jan 2011)
If the Frontera makes it through another MOT i may buy it out right, and it'll become my little project to get it back upto scratch.
Not going to throw loads of money at it.

The young'un goes to school over 2 mile away so need some transport, can't really go wrong for £150

I've had vauxhalls before, Astra van mk3, Cavalier mk3, Astra mk4.
I used to be the North East area rep / orginiser for Cavaliercrazy.co.uk had a few meets a year while i was doing that.
I still have the Cavalier but requires a new engine and some welding work (none structural)


Current faults:
Hand brake slack, ineffective
Tracking is out
Loosing coolant
Heater matrix leaking
Demisters not working
One of the rear passenger doors will not stay shut (so bodged shut, secure)
Rear wiper missing
Ride very bouncy, assuming shocker are shot
Possibly have NSR spring snapped
Engine idle poor
Altenator seems to be under-performing
Fuel gauge not working
Gear selection needs to be rammed in, assuming thrust bearing has been put in wrong, did have clutch kit renewed beginning of 2010
Nail in OSF tyre

Cosmetic stuff:
No bull bar
No skid plate protecting sump
No spot lights
Green bonnet (car is black)
Rust appearing around wheel arches
generally grubby inside.

Had the pleasure of using the frontera today and playing with the 4*4, ensuring not to use it on clear road... only really icey stuff.
Dragged a Honda Civic off a snow mound.

Really impressed with it as far as usefulness goes in this weather.
But with 1 months test left and on disabled tax, i doubt i'll be buying it
Plus got a wife and a child to run around, so will probally end up with my mothers '02 Mondeo.

Will keep you updated if i get the frontera (even as a toy)
