Hi Everyone, We picked up our Frontera last week from a family friend who just didnt want to spend anymore money on it when the head gasket went for a second time. It's cost £200 and it's a project for me and my Dad to work on and hopefully enjoy some laning in soon. Here's a pic: It's a 2.216v Petrol and as mentioned the headgasket had failed. The previous owner spent some serious cash on it aswell, last year had the bottom end rebuilt with a bill for £1400! We pulled the head off it today, looks like it failed on No.4: I'm saying number 4 because there's some sign of tracking between the water jacket and the pot and also because of the colouration of the exhaust valves and the piston: I have a spare head from an X20XEV so I'm taking both heads into work tomorrow for a light skim and a pressure test, hopefully one will be OK! This forum's been a lot of help already with plenty of advice on this particular job. My manifold is cracked aswell so I'll be looking to get hold of one of those nice tubular jobs I've seen on here! Any comments or further hints greatly appreciated! Thanks, Pete.
