Thought I'd say hi as I joined this forum yesterday. NO I do not actually own a Frontera but did have a totally standard N reg 2.0i Sport which I bought in 2007 for £360 with a blown head gasket at 103,000 miles. £400 later including gasket, skim, cam belt, water pump and thermostat the beast was rocking, and although I'd driven Land Rovers and a Range Rover before I never actually owned a 4x4. Although I knew of the bad reports the Fronty got I always fancied one since my brother and I had a demo in a LWB one at the Bagshot Heath off road day back in 1993.
Anyway, long story short I bought some "weekend wheels" complete with Camac tyres, threw them on and went round the Devil's Pit in Beds with a couple of Land Rover mates (which the result being my avatar pic). Must say we went round and round for hours and apart from me skipping on the "red run" it did really well, only a few times did I struggle when they didn't, but I didn't need to be pulled out at all during the whole day! I believe the only thing letting the car down was ground clearance, on one uphill section I think I scraped the ground just enough to halt the vehicle, but three more attempts, each time faster I got through!!!!
Was fun whilst it lasted and I WILL buy another, we have a 6month old girl and just moved house, so that takes priority - oh and talking the missus into getting another one
So joined the forum just to be nosey really, wish I had joined back in the day though
Cheers!
