Introducing myself/my fronty

Hi...I have had 1994 2.4i LWB from new...now at 76000 mls. Maintained and repaired it myself....serviced every 3000-4500 mls.Because it is more and more difficult to get spare parts and age (69yrs) slowing me up, I was close to "scrapping" in against something more modern last month...when I had a "non-start" which has been difficult to diagnose...occuring twice in last 4 months.
Bought new bits...battery,now alternator and starter motor. All Ok at the moment,fingers crossed, so I have given my fronty a reprieve for the time being.
Has served me well,towing caravan... Uk and around France and to Spain 7-8 times with no problems.
So thought joining FronteraOwners might help me to "hang in", and extend the life of my vehicle.

just to let you in on a small secret, the 2.4 petrol shares a lot of parts with the 2.3 diesel, in water pump, alternator, oil pump, basically, every thing below the head,
