Newbie from the isle of wight

Hi all, I am new to the site and 4x4 ownership, I have an R plate frontera 2.0l sport in green. the only issue I have had is one mornig going to work the volt gauge on the dash went mental due to the diode in the altenator going up the shoot so I fitted a new one.
i have bought the frontera as I go shooting and do get some messy rough lanes to go through and previous cars (cosworths, mondeo st24s etc ) just wouldnt cut it.
I have an illness where I cant own a car without it being modified so have joined here to see where to go with it.
it is fitted with the 3 spoke alloys and 255/65/16s and I would like some bigger chunkier tyres, air filter snorkle and wing to roof branch wires (sorry not familier to the names.
any idvice or pics of yours would be nice thanks.

Hello and welcome to the FOGness

If you are going to fit big chunky tyres you will probably want to consider a suspension lift cos otherwise they tend to catch on the valance at the front. Have a look at http://www.4x4tyres.com/ for ideas. There is plenty of experience on here when it comes to what tyres work/last well.

As for snorkels, well, there aren't any aftermarket ones made for the Frontera. A couple of the guys have fettled ones made for other trucks to fit, but most folks tend to make their own (have a hunt round with the search box to see a few examples).

The branch wire things are useful, but remember they aren't road legal as far as I know, so you will want to make them removable.

Ive got a 2.0 sport for exactly the same reason, hadf it for about 6 - 7 weeks..., and wouldnt swop it for a landy! The heater works for a start and it doesnt break down

I've just fitted 31/10.5/50 15 MAxxis Buckshot Mudders. have a look round on ebay, I picked 4 up - brand new for £279.99, they are a straight fit - no mods needed and they are little lovelies bit slippy on road, but like a pitbull in the mud - (Drift / A friend recommended - so they must be good!)
