NewbieAfternoon guys,
been lurking for a while now and thought I had better introduce myself. Im picking up my first frontera at the end of the month. Its an S reg in decent nick with the 2.2 petrol engine. Is there anything I should be on the lookout for? Tried to look for a buying guide, but couldnt find one. Not my first vauxhall, but first time venturing into the 4x4 community, so I am a bit wet behind the ears when it comes to these old girls!

Re: NewbieWell,
its nearly Friday, so nearly time to pick the old girl up. Im strangely excited! Any tips for what to look out for on the old girl? Thanks Mat
Re: NewbieMake sure the cambelt has been changed at 40k mile interludes.
Make shure speedo and dash lights are all working correctly. Head gasket can be a problem on these lumps so check for overheating, coolant loss and mayo in the oil. Air bag/seatbelt warning light staying on can be a problem also but is usually just breaks in the underseat wiring harness that causes this problem/ I assume it is the B series Fonty?
Re: NewbieWell,
picked it up yesterday and its a bit more of a pig than the advert suggested. Fixed the front passenger window today, also fixed the rear glass tailgate which wasnt mentioned as broken. There is a massive split in the lower tailgate, so that will need replacing and the front drivers side wing has taken a bash so that could do with replacing. Just got to find one being broken in the same colour now! It has half a farm yard in the boot and under the back seats, so I am going to pay for a valet next month. There is a large dead spot in the steering(around 5cm play on the steering wheel) when centered and over 50mph. i was getting blown all over the place yesterday. Is this normal for these old girls or do I have a couple of dodgy rubbers under there somewhere?
